Oh, these clever cosmetics company marketers--they really know how to grab my attention with advertisements promising perfect hair. After trying Nexxus ProMend overnight hair treatment, I saw a similar product at Avon.com. While the Nexxus version is a deep penetrating overnight treatment, I bought the Avon Split End Mender as something I could use more frequently to moisturize and protect my hair from further damage. Avon Split End Mender comes in a pretty blue bottle and, at 5 ounces, is a bit larger than some of their other hair treatments. The lotion is thinner than I expected, and flows easily from the bottle. I applied it to my damp hair, but it can also be applied to dry hair per the instructions. Effectiveness What I really like about this product is that it is lightweight, not greasy, and it didn't feel like it weighed my hair down. I can use it regularly without build up or flaking. I don't think it lived up to the claim that it "repairs up to 95% of split ends," but it worked better than some other products I've used in the past. Most likely, you're going to still need to keep your ends clipped regularly, but Avon Damage Repair Split End Mender can help keep hair damage to a minimum. Scent The scent is fresh, pleasant and understated. Even if you're not particularly fond of the scent, it's not a problem because it really doesn't linger for very long.
