Europe's penchant for non-perfection
Avenue Montaigne is a great little film, with a loveable cast of characters.  In traditional foreign film style, hardly any of the actors are visually perfect, and many have obvious flaws - gee, just like real people!   Cecile De France is delightful as Jessica, the common thread among a small group of people whose lives revolve around a set of monumental events all occuring in or near the same geographic location at the same time.   Story lines ring true, while many characters become more and more loveable:  even the tough birds have marinated to juicy old friends by the end of the film.   Sydney Pollack makes an appearance as a film director.

If you loved Amelie, you'll love this film (and if you love this film, you should see Amelie!).   Cheers to Regal's CinemaArt screens for showing this film in the states.   You'll be craving a fresh baguette and some hot Parisian coffee by the time you leave the theater.

The Bottom Line:  Libby Loves It!
