I received The Avent starter set as a present for my baby shower with both the Four ounce bottles and the eight ounce bottles. They are BPA free. I have no idea what that is but I'm told its a good thing. For the first six months I mainly breast fed my daughter, but bottles were still used very often. They contained pumped breast milk. The nipples are very naturally-shaped, and my daughter had no problems going back and forth between these bottles and breast feeding. I liked them so much I went and bout six more of the larger eight ounce.
They are wide mouth and shorter bottles which made cleaning them a super easy. They're dishwasher safe which is totally handy at grandma's house. They adjust with my daughter so that we could leave a set at the grandpartents house and just bring the sippy cup attachment. They also sell lids to turn the bottles into handy storage. And the nipples come in graduated sizes to allow for the right amount of flow for every age.
The only Issue I really had with these is that they had some trouble with leaking on the larger size. It seemed like a problem with the seal between the bottle and nipple but other wise great bottle. This usually meant a towel under the bottle or just changing the entire outfit when she was done. I've heard that Avent will do exchanges on leaky nipples and bottles but by the time ours started leaking she was ready for sippy cups. All around I love Avent bottles.
