I breastfed my daughter exclusively, but that doesn't mean I wanted to be her sole delivery system. Occasionally, it was nice to watch my baby eat from across the room. The only bottles we ever used were by Avent, and chose them simply because they were compatible with my breastpump and everything… read full review »

All I have to say is that I loved these bottles and the Avent pump. The cons of them is they are the bottle linked with high levels of BPH as posted in recent articles linking this to child autism and cancers. They are a little on the expensive side, I would continue to buy them if they weren't… read full review »

These bottles leak. They leaked 2 years ago when I had my daughter and I tried them again with my newborn son and they still leak. — The wide mouth is great and they are easy to clean, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the bottle leaks. I also use the dishwasher (top rack with basket) for cleaning bottles and the more you wash these the more likley they are to leak. And its not just a little, when these bottles leak they… read full review »

— I wasn't able to breastfeed for very long, so after 2-3 months I decided to give Avent a try. He's been using them ever since. Yes, I'd have to agree with mostly everyone who reviewed here and mentioned that it has a tendency to leak at times. Although, it seems to only leak if you over-tighten it or somehow tighten it lopsided, which seems pretty logical for it to… read full review »

I decided to upgrade bottle models for my latest child who is now 14 months. I am sad to say that the avent bottles do not work very well because they leak A LOT! If you don't pull the nipple and seal the bottle just right your baby will have a soaked shirt after feeding time. The reason I choose these in the first place, is because they were highly recommended by two friends. Come to find out one of them must have been dillusional at the time, because when I asked her about it again after mine began to leak, the first thing she said was "oh those leak!" In any case, I used playtex… read full review »

I have now used Avent bottles with both of my children. What I like best is that these bottles made it easy to switch from breast to bottle. I also like that as my children grew I didn't have to buy new bottles only new nipples. Some of the draw backs of these bottles is that they sometimes leak if not closed just right. The price can me a little steep also at about $5 a bottle. They do last for ever though. I had my children rather close together and was able to use the same bottles with both kids. I only had to buy new… read full review »

I am a very pro-Playtex disposables mommy, and used them faithfully for my first two children. However, my third daughter had other ideas about the bottles she wanted to use. We tried Playtex disposables and those didn't make her happy at all. She was surprisingly gassy and fussy. We tried Nuk bottles and those were nice but it took her an hour to drink 3 oz. no matter what size nipple we tried. So, I had an Advent bottle sample and we tried those and what  you know? She loved it! Drank her bottles in 1/4 of the time and no gas! So, I invested in about 10 4 oz bottles and we used those… read full review »

My daugher Amber was born 9/2/1982 and used the old time plastic bottles.  My grandbaby girl Emma was born 9/5/2007. — Love the new products for baby that has been developed.  This bottle and my experience with feeding Emma is that she drinks without loosing the milk and it getting on her bib.  She doesn't get as much air and burps really good.  These are the only bottles my daughter will use for her daughter! —… read full review »

This bottle has different level nipples, but the slow flow was still too fast for my son.  He had to gulp it down to try to keep up, but it still got all over him and gave him gas.  I finally settled on a generic Wal-Mart brand bottle and it worked!  These bottles are probably good for older babies, but not for… read full review »

I love these bottles because they have a wide opening for pouring in breastmilk and adding powdered formula. They also have ad on handles for when baby gets older and needs to learn to hold his own bottle. I did have a huge leak after not tightening the lid on very well which is my only con but it only happened… read full review »

I have used an Avent bottle once, and probably never will try it again. I used the 4 ounce bottle to feed my daughter and it never sealed when screwing the lid on. She ended up with a mess all over her because it leaked down onto her onesie and soaked… read full review »

For my first daughter I selected these bottles as registry gifts, as well as the "breastmilk containers", which were really just 4 oz. Avent bottles without the nipples.  I made the choice only because I already had an Avent manual breast pump, so it was more convenient to have a set of bottles that already fit to it. — My first child is now 3 and we have another baby girl.  We still use the bottles!  You can buy attachments and spouts to convert them to sippy cups, so I have used them in that form for my toddler.  We also use them for storing baby food (I make my… read full review »

Our daughter is now 2/12 years old and still uses the Avent bottles as sippy cups for her water.  When she was born, she was exclusively breastfed for almost nine months and began taking bottled breastmilk daily given to her by her daddy and others at only 2-3 weeks of age. — — We used the Avent bottles exclusively and found them: easy to use; easy to clean; and most importantly for us, completely without complications in terms of our daughter going between the bottle and breast.  — — We loved the larger diameter bottle size for both our comfort when… read full review »

I was given the Avent bottles as a present.  Before using them I found out that many baby bottles contain BPA--a toxic chemical in plastic that leaches into the food or drink that's in it after washings or heating them and is very harmful to babies.  (Please do your research on BPA!)  I called Avent to ask what kind of plastic their bottles are made from and they told me polycarbonate, which is the worst plastic and contains BPA, and I did not like how the representative seemed to not care that they used this harmful plastic.  One way of knowing if the bottle you are… read full review »

Avent bottles are versatile since they have the variable flow nipples starting with 1 for newborns up to the "y" cut nipples for full flow.  They also have the nipples that have the 3 different flow levels in one nipple.  This one was a little confusing at first since you have to line the "level" up with the baby's nose, but once we got the hang of it, it worked well. — They also have handles that you can put on the bottles which helps the baby learn how to easily hold it's bottle and helps transitioning to sippy cups.  They have training lids for teaching kids to… read full review »
