The Avent BPA free bottles were recommended to me by a friend. These are my first baby bottle as well. I used it for the first 2 months, then found that my baby spit up at every feeding. I changed to playtex nursers and they are better for reducing spit ups.
Cleaning: the avent bottles are easy to clean. easy to assemble. I sterilize them in the avent microwave steamer.
Feeding: these bottles leak if you are not careful! I always turn them to the side and rotate them to make sure there is none or little leakage at the bottle ring before I give it to my baby. I do find that only bottle rings/nipple cause leakage. I have 1 badly leaking bottle out of the 4 bottles I brought.
Price: at about $10 per bottle, it's way too expensive. I recommend Gerber's gentleflow at about $3-4 per bottle. It's basically the same bottle for less. Gerber is made in China though and BPA free as well.
Other uses: since I am using the playtex nurser now. I purchased the silicon seals for the avent bottles. I am planning to use them as baby food storage once my baby starts solid food.
