Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion for Faces SPF 70 —

Quick View: I'm up in the Adirondack mountains for the week with my family and, as usual, I'm the only one who prepared for any type of weather. The forecast said it would be cloudy and rainy all week but I packed Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion for Faces SPF 70 anyway. Just in case the sun did peek through.

Not only has it been peeking through, it's been shining brightly since we got here. This sunblock works and my older son is suffering tonight because he didn't think he "needed" to use it today.

My Take on Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion for Faces SPF 70

This 3 ounce tube is made especially for faces but can be used on any part of the body. This white cream has a somewhat floral scent which is one of the things that turned my macho son off to using it. It is waterproof sand oil free. My younger son, husband, and I all wore it on our faces when we set out to hike this morning. We were lightly covered on our bodies to avoid thorns and such but our faces were exposed to the sun.

The sunblock isn't greasy and absorbs fast. None of us felt any stinging or experienced any rashes or breakouts from it. Only a little bit is needed to cover the face and neck.

And we were off! Three hours later, we returned, tired but none the worse for the wear. Well, three of us were fine. The older kid was read as a beet and he has gotten redder as the time has passed. His face, especially his nose and cheeks, are very sore, feel hot to the touch, and look awful. He doesn't have sun poisoning but he's got a whopper of a sunburn! Up here, it doesn't feel as hot as it does where we live in Central New York but the sun is apparently very strong as we weren't in direct sunlight the whole time we were out and my son already has a good tan base.

If I hadn't worn Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion for Faces SPF 70, my face would have fallen off! Or I would have looked 80 years old by the time I got home. I have no evidence of a sunburn and neither do my husband and younger sun. Since we were all in the same place at the same time, it's clear that this sunblock did its job on those who applied it.

My red son has decided he will use the sunblock for the rest of the week, even though he still thinks it "stinks". I wish it was unscented myself but that's my only complaint.

My Viewpoint

Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion for Faces SPF 70 works well on faces and necks and, I'm sure, any part of the body that is exposed to sunlight. When you need strong protection against the sun's ray's, try Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion for Faces SPF 70. It does smell somewhat floral but that scent doesn't last long and the protection is worth it. It doesn't leave a white residue and isn't greasy. And boy, does it block the sun. I have to go with 5 stars.

In response to Katrena's comment from Aug 19, 2009 at 4:57AM:

Painful and dangerous. I wish I could get it into my son's head that a sunburn is NOT cool. It's a BURN and damaging to his skin. I used to bake in the sun myself but didn't burn often. Still, I had no idea how dangerous it was!

All of us are fair-skinned and we just recently went to a beach in SC for vacation. I slathered sunblock on everyone all week and I'm glad I did. I know how painful sunburns can be! Nice review.
