I still have to turn my head when a well kept Mitsubishi 3000GT drives by. I don't know why but I have always loved the body style and general look of that model. And lately, I must say I have to turn and check out the little Smartcars from Mercedes. They go on three cyclinders? Amazing.

Mustangs. The old ones. 1960s. I had a 68. No. I did not buy it new. I wasn't old enough to drive when those came out.

(-: I teach college and the kids do not have a good concept of time. I've been asked if I got that old Mustang new and also if I went to Woodstock. Teehee. No. And no. And I don't remember the Civil War either.

I'm always amazed when I see an old car with fins on the back, like in the 1950s. What were they thinking? But in a way they are cool looking.

I like old Mustangs, although the new ones are pretty nice too. The new ones are probably more reliable, get better gas mileage and have all the modern conveniences, too. I like older BMW and Audi sedans, and hot hatches such as the Mazda3 and VW Golf/Rabbit/GTI. I also like a wide variety of sports cars. The Mitsubishi 3000GT is certainly very nice, as is the Nissan 300Z from 10-15 years ago. I also like the Porsche 924/944/968. I owned a 924 for many years and have owned a 968 since 1999.
And I actually went to the original Woodstock in 1969. It seems like just a couple months ago...

Bob, I think you and my husband are two peas in a pod! He lived in Germany for a few years and spent many a mile driving on the autobahn. The last time he was there on business he rented a BMW and said it was scary at about 85 mph. The car didn't seem stable. His first Audi [A4] was one of his favorite cars until it went over 100K. Then, the car seemed to fall apart piece by piece.
My favorite car to drive was a little Alpha. From the moment we brought it home from the dealer it seemed to have little issues. When it was running it was a blast!
My very first car was a push button Valiant! Remember those?

Few and far between but I always get a little rubbernecky when I see a Maserati. I just love the way most of them look and would love to have one. Yeah dream on, I know. I still love old Camaros as well. Like late 60s Camaros. I'm hoping to get the new one when it comes out although it would in no way compare. I like 60s and 70s muscle cars.

The Cadillac CTS in bronze (one day I shall drive one) is the most beautiful car floating down the highways of America these days. I kept pace with one my way home from the East coast last month and I could hardly keep my eyes of it. The CTS is poetry in motion, a brawny but beautiful testament to the ability of an American car company to still build a quality automobile. Close runner up the BMW M3 and the Lexus GS... but watch Lincoln, the car maker looks alive again with the stellar looking MKS

Although I may not feel the same way about the Cadillac CTS your description is sheer poetry! I can feel the love you have for the car and I hope one day your dream will come true.

I loved the The Dodge Li'l Red Pickup Truck when they came out in 1978! I must have been the only person to love them though because they didn't last long.... Built for speed with a 360 V8 police engine. Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! I will post a picture on my photos... ahhh

I hear you. When Hale Bop comet came into visibility I was teaching middle school. I was only 28. I shared with my students that another may not come into view like this until 2011 and a teary eyed student said 'I am sorry that you won't be alive to see it." As cool as us teachers may think we are, our students always seem to think we are soooo old. (Here's hoping I get to watch another comet in 2011!)
As for the question, I have to share that when I got a Toyota F-J, I started thinking that I was turning heads, but I I am becoming convinced it was the car. I should review it:)

mine. I love my new Ford Ranger Fx4 extreme II series. It's better on gas than my old vehicle, smoother riding, and just a blast to drive. My son also thinks that I am a much cooler mom since I bought it, that's the best part.
