The Verdict - I've used it for years and always will as long as it's around.
Just the Facts - I've been using Aussie Sprunch Spray since back in the 80s when the routine was mousse, spray, curl, spray the curl while it's still in the curling iron, release curling iron, spray again, carefully brush the style into submission, spray liberally again, direct hairdryer to the sides of my hair to create huge wings and spray until crispy and shiny. Aussie Sprunch was my trusty 80s Texas-sized hair product that I could not live without.
Nowadays my hair is not so big but is still very unruly so I still use it to keep things in place and to scrunch my style here and there when I wear it curly. The small spritzer allows me to direct the spray exactly where I want it so I don't apply too much. It holds strongly and all day long until I wash it out. I'd say brush it out but it holds really good so brushing my hair after using Aussie Sprunch is an exercise in futility. It's strong stuff.
I use Aussie Sprunch as a regular hairspray and sometimes as a scruncher, depending on the length of my hair and what style I am trying to achieve. If I'm wearing my style more natural I use it to keep little flyaways away from my face. If I'm wearing it up I use it to keep the shorter pieces from coming loose. If I'm wearing it curly, I generally just spray some on my hair or hands and scrunch it in to help hold the curl.
The scent can only be described as "purple". It smells like grape Sweet Tarts and is quite lovely. Unfortunately the bees kind of like it too.
If using as a hairspray, I just hold it ab out 6-8 inches from my hair and spray it where I want hold. If my hair is a bit longer or is being particularly unruly, I'll quickly spray it all over and scrunch the hair with my hands to make it more messy. You have to work fast though, because the spray dries quickly so you don't have lots of time to fool with it. It's also quite strong so if you spray too much of it in one place, your hair becomes crispy and it's impossible to get a brush or comb through it.
Star Power - ****4 stars**** Aussie Sprunch Spray is one of only 2 sprays I keep in my stash at all times.
