I found myself in need of a spray on leave-in conditioner one afternoon, so I thought, "Why not try Aussie? I have a coupon!"
It wasn't worth it.
The Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner bottle is filled with a slight bubblegum-scented liquid. I sprayed it on the ends of my hair after showering in hopes to detangle a few knots and add extra conditioning. It did nothing in the way of detangling. I struggled with my comb, pulling knots out by clumps, unimpressed with this product and it had only been 30 seconds since I applied it. An hour later my air-dried hair was frizzy and stiff. I like to give all products three chances before making a decision to continue or toss it, so the next two times after washing I sprayed Insurance from roots to tips. Both times my hair was nothing but a brittle mess. Zero bounce, zero shine, zero moisture. My favorite shampoo and conditioner products were cancelled out the moment I stepped from the shower and sprayed this product on.
My hair felt so much like I loaded it with hairspray I became suspicious that I purchased the wrong product on accident. After reading the label front and back, I was amazed that I had been using leave-in conditioner.
My hair's health returned once I ceased Aussie and reconciled with an old favorite (a creme, not a spray, unfortunately, but it repairs like leave-in's should: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Creme)
There is only one good thing I can say about Hair Insurance: the purple bottle with itsĀ pattern of kangaroos on top is adorable.
