The old adage "You get what you pay for" almost always holds true in electronics, and this example is no different. It's a cheap system that provides surround sound via 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer and has a 5-disc DVD changer included. The major problem with this system is that it can only seem to handle activity for about 2 hours. Not a problem if you're watching a short movie, of course, but on the frequent occasion that I watch a movie longer than that or want to use it as a speaker system for my iPod for any length of time, it's an issue. Basically, it seems to overheat and just stops working at about this point. The fan runs continuously in this unit and even that doesn't help... Other than that issue, the system is just bad instead of terrible. The sound is decent quality, although not great; it has trouble reading some mildly scratched discs; the remote control doesn't work at certain angles; and it is very slow to react to requests. If all you want is a surround sound system to get you by for a while, this would be okay, but be ready to replace it with something that works sooner rather than later...
