Atonement —

My husband and I went to go see this on our one month anniversary thinking that this would be a romantic movie and a real "treat."

We go to movies at least once a week.  It's cheap entertianment for use because I get free movie passes from work.

We actually went to go see this movie and couldn't use the movie passes and actually paid to go see this movie and were very, very disappointed.

The movie moved very slow and could have been done in about half the time.

Yes, it did exhibit how someone can assume the worst if they only see part of the situation and when you're a child, you don't always understand why you see but as far as it being a breath taking love story, no way.

I love independent films.  I love movies of all genres.  I even love foreign films so I have a large variety of movies I love to watch.  I just didn't like this movie.

I'm a very emotional person and will cry if the movie is sad or extremely happy but after the movie was finished, the only thing I felt was jipped and I wanted my money back.

I know this is based on an award winning novel and I'm guessing the book is much better, it would be hard for it to not be.  Instead of flushing out the "meaty" part of the story, it seemed to just touch on several parts of the story without concentrating on any one part and so it felt very shallow.

It definately had a lot of potential but it left me feeling disappointed. I wouldn't even have paid to rent this movie.
