A few years ago I read the book and went on this diet. I stuck to it for two weeks and lost 15 pounds. I was amazed. The weight came flying off. For the first few days it was hard because I love carbs and they were such a central part of my diet. For the rest of the two weeks however, it became easier and I also added back a few things like strawberrys.
I tried a healthy version of this diet with included things like Turkey Bacon and Egg Whites for breakfast and salads for lunch. Cutting out the high calorie orange juice, no soda, and no chocolate (kill me now!) and then the worst of all no wine or beer is probably what made it so effective.
Eventually like everyone else, I fell off the diet. There is just too much good bread, pizza and fruit in the world to stay eating like a carnivore.
Now when I want to lose weight I stop having my usual glass of wine, cut out the chocolate (noooo!!!!) and try to one have one serving. That is my own person diet plan and I can usually shed about 10 pounds in two weeks if I just do that.
I weigh 185 pounds and I am 5 feet 11 inches which means my BMI is right at the edge of acceptability. My doctor told me I need to lose a few pounds, so my summer goal is to get back to 175. Probably more info than you wanted to know, but I will check back in in three month and update this review to let you know how it went.
