....jewelry created for a goddess!
Over the weekend I attended an art festival in Fayetteville, Texas with my honey. I'm not big into art but I wanted to get out and enjoy some fresh air in the country. I'm so glad that I went. Several vendors brought jewelry. Now, they had my attention! One booth in particular really caught my eye. The colors shining from their displays were so beautiful and vibrant.
I met Susan who was the owner of Athena Glass Jewelry, the booth that really drew me in. Her designs are so unique! The colors are so brilliant and they shift from one color to another when moved. Chameleon like, as she says, the colors seem to match any surface they are touching.
Susan's fused jewelry is created by firing many thin layers of the finest dichroic and art glass together in a kiln. Each little glass component is carefully hand cut and arranged into 2 to 5 layers and fired at least three times. Each piece of jewelry is designed as a unique, one of a kind work of art.
I ended up purchasing a necklace and earring set for myself (I want more) and 2 necklaces for my daughter and my boyfriend's daughter.
Susan is a great artist and she can be found on the internet, at a local gallery and festivals. Athena Glass Jewelry offers: pendants, earrings, rings, bracelets, magnets, wine stoppers - everything is BEAUTIFUL!!! I encourage you to give her a looksy. ;-)
