Asus K0IJ Laptop makes up for every other laptop I've endured.

If you are like me, you always want the convenience of a laptop but continue using a clunky desktop because of cost and quality. Every laptop that I've been forced to endure by my company in the past had made me unwilling to even consider a laptop for home. I realized I really wanted the portability and convenience of a laptop. I considered a competitor but I couldn't bring myself to spend a large amount of money on a device that doesn't have any computing power and is mostly just a web surfing device. I did a lot of research and decided on the Asus K50IJ. It holds up well, the screen is large enough that I can actually read webpages, it has a fast processor and it is inexpensive. I don't miss my desktop at all. So far I've had no problems with a LAPTOP!!! Who would have thought that was even possible? The only issue that I do have is that the speakers are not quite loud enough for me but I do have moderate hearing loss.

I absolutely love my Asus. I was a bit nervous about buying a brand I had never heard of before and  because the sales associate didn't know too much about it. I purchased it to replace an HP and am very happy with my decision. Though this computer did not cost as much as the name brand computers it is operating in the same way if not better in some cases. I am very happy with the screen resolution and the keyboard. This laptop is very light weight and very portable. I One part I am not fond of with this notebook is the plug in has already gotten bent. It doesn't stay plugged in too well. However, the battery holds its charge very well and it gives ample warning to charge the battery. The cord is also pretty long, making it easy to use while plugged in. The mouse pad is also a bit sensitive. My 5 yearold loves to play games and is unable to use this computer has to use her dad's computer to play her educational games.

This is a fantastic laptop.  I purchased this about eight months ago and I am very pleased with it.  There is plenty of memory and I am able to do a wide range of activities on here from work product to listening to music and watching hulu videos without any trouble.  Although it may seem  a bit excessive if you don't know your way around... the programs that come with the laptop are very helpful.  I personally love the built in webcam since I meet with someone on skype all the time.  There is sometimes a bit of a delay and distortion but I do not believe that is due to the laptop but instead due to their faulty internet connection.  I would say that the battery life is not all that fantastic. I get about two solid hours before starting to have issues.  This may be due to the fact that I use battery sucking programs though.  The one issue that I have with this laptop is the fact that the speakers are on the bottom. I use my laptop for work, school and entertainment purposes and it does drive me a bit nutty that I have to use earbuds sometimes to be able to hear if my son is watching tv in the same room.  This is a great laptop that I have not had any issues with and I would highly recommend.

All is great aside from the speakers.

I purchased this computer during my senior year of college. I minored in Instructional Technology, so I had access to professors and others that I felt I could trust their opinions in regards to purchasing a new computer. When I asked them what was the best out there, there was a resounding answer of "MAC". Unfortunately, Mac's were nowhere near my budget so that was out of the picture. When I asked for an alternative, nearly everyone said to look into ASUS. I knew that ASUS had made motherboards, but was not familiar with their laptops or netbooks. I was amazed at the specs that were included in this computer compared to the price it was listed at.  I have had this computer for almost a year now and I am very satisfied with it. I love the full keyboard with the number pad. I also really like the touchpad with the grooves. With my old computer I would constantly hit the touchpad with my palm while typing and accidentally click something. With this computer, I have yet to have that problem. There is one downside to this computer - the speakers are located at the front lip of the computer, so if you're like me and like to use your notebook on your lap or set it on a cushioned space, the speakers get covered and the sound isn't very loud (regardless of volume).    Overall, this computer is fast, great for heavy online use and gaming, the picture is clear, and is very aesthetically pleasing.

I would recommend Asus Notebook before any other laptop.

I went in to buy a Toshiba laptop and came out buying an Asus desktop.  It was recommended by the merchant and I was leary about buying it but after bringing it home and using it, I wouldn't have any other laptop.  I would recommend it to anyone.

Great laptop for college students

4

I bought this laptop in February 2010. It was my first laptop that I ever bought. I did a lot of research before buying. I mainly needed the laptop for college, but even for the non college student it is a very good investment. It is worth the price. It has 3 GB of memory, expandable to 4. very fast computer, I was extremely impressed with the display and I still am. It is very easy to set up. I can run several programs at the same time without any problems whatsoever. It has fast graphics, and load up speed. I put world of warcraft on the computer just to test its limits and it runs it with no problems. There are plenty of usb ports on the computer, and a splace for sd cards, so you can load your photos and videos. it has a built in webcam and mic. the mic is great, no problems with that, people can hear me clearly. webcam however is not so great, it is rather grainy and a bit slow or motion sensing. This laptop goes everywhere with me, I use it for more than just schoolwork, I love this computer. The only reason it receives four stars instead of five is due to the speakers. They are located in an inconventional place. They are on the bottom, and even having the volume up to 100%, it is still very hard to hear, yet if you plug in speakers or headphones, it will deafen you at 30% volume. I find it annoying and a bit odd.
