So I spoiled myself todat and bought the new Eee from acer. The product reails for about $450 including taxes CAD.

I am 26 years old and I am a full time university student (I am back at school for the next 4 years on my bosses bill).

I have a huge backpack full of text books and binders because I refuse to purchase a locker. I tend to use my car as a storage device, however the parking lot is a long march from the buildings I have classes in.

I really felt disconnected while I was at school and most of the computer labs were out of my way. My husbands suggested this new laptop from Asus. It is so...

We picked up the Asus EEE Notebook Laptop right before Christmas for $299 as a gift for our twins. It has worked out just famously.  The keyboard is just the right size for their hands and it's wireless so they can do their everyday e-mailing back and forth to their friends from anywhere in house, the backyard or even sometimes at a restaurant if it's a hotspot!! It does just fine for the anime videos they like to watch on YouTube as well even though we were worried about the memory.  No problems there.  It has a great little word processing program for homework and hooks right up to the printer...

This is not recommended to be your only computer and has minimum storage but is great for e-mail checking, web surfing, editing documents, ect. Can use virtually anywhere because of amazing light weight and small size. I have a desktop thats for the family and a external hard drive in my room and never have to touch the desktop because all the asus lacks is memory. Overall a great buy for the money.

If you want somthing that is basic and small enough to fit in your purse then this is the computer for you.  It will not replace your desktop at home but it's great for traveling and I love the wireless internet that comes with it.

I am a travel nanny and almost always have my computer with me.  My great IBM laptop still works great but I wanted something lighter.  Decided to leave my IBM at home for the home computer and buy a lightweight notebook.  After getting dizzy from reading all the reviews, talking to techs, I took the plunge and bought an ASUS 1000HE which has a 10" screen, 160 GB HD and 2 RAM.  All I really need on the road is to keep in touch with clients via email, write out some contracts and reviews for children related articles.  I also download some pics so having a place to just slip in my SanDisk was...

Just purchased Asus' EeePC and I am very pleased. I instantly removed the dumbed down Linux OS that came with it and put on Windows XP. It runs perfectly find and is perfect for a Internet browsing, Document writing, Email checking machine. You definitely won't be encoding any video with the weak processor that comes with it, but for everyday tasks, you have a very nice computer about the size of a paperback, but even thinner!

A couple cons are the small keyboad size. Granted the keyboard is going to have to be small, but whoever designed it made the wrong secondary keys too small. For instance,...

It took me a few days to get used to the keyboard (I have fat fingers).  I was pleasntly surprised that it didn;t come loaded down with a bunch of bloatware or "dumb" programs as do so many laptops.  I travel a lot and it's perfect for that purpose.  The wireless is bulletproof and with the 160GB HD I have plenty of room for my photos and MP3s. If I had a complaint it would be that the exterior (Gloss black) is prone to smudges and fingerprints.  I'd prefer the matte  surface on the inside.  Battery life is excellent and I even found a usable port for my JerkStopper.  All in all an exceptional... read full review »

I bought this to lighten my load a bit when traveling. Perfect so far. easy to set up, easy acess to email & the size is just right. The Asus Eee won't replace a laptop for everyday use. But for traveling email and internet acess it can't be beat. Also loaded some ebooks for the plane ride. Cons would be battery life and limited storage. I have had this for one month, so this is an early review. Very happy with it so far!

I see in a shop that the unit is getting heated for long use. Also the 7" display is not that good to use.
