This a really good laptop computer for its price. It is really light weight in comparison to other laptops that I've had in the past. The battery life is around 3 hours or so and can be extended by choosing your own power saver plan. Its processing speed is quite fast. I haven't had any problems playing games and the graphics look pretty good too. The touch pad sometimes doesn't react well. However, there is a neat program that came with the computer that allows you to zoom in and out, as well as move up and down any webpage similar to a mac touch pad. The spacebar sometimes does not react to my pressing it occasionally. The only problem that I've experienced with this laptop so far is that once while I was using it, it shut down suddenly. The screen went completely black. I started it up again and continued to use it, when suddenly it happened again. After that it has never happened again. Overall it is a great computer and I have recommended it to many of my friends and family. A friend of mine bought the same one as I did and he loves it too.

This is a fantastic little netbook that I had received as a gift. I have had this computer for awhile now and have used it extensively. I feel like I am in a great position to review it! This netbook comes with Windows 7 starter and looks extremely sleek and sexy. I can not personally review the specs of the computer as I am not very skilled with processor speeds, and all of that. It comes with a good amount of RAM for a tiny computer and is very fast. One of the downfalls with this little netbook is the fact that you are not able to change the wallpaper. I do not know if I was doing something wrong but I could not get the wallpaper to change to a custom one that I had wanted to make it. This computer's battery life lasts for what seems like forever which provides for extended use on the go which is what a Netbook is for. All in all this is an insanely fantastic product and I highly recommend it for someone that wants a speedy, lightweight computer with a very long lasting battery life.

As a student, it is always hard to find the perfect device which would, in the longrun, make your life easier. Though there were some minor kinks with this netbook, as with all products, this tiny device had become my best friend. I originally acquired the Asus Black 10.1 Eee Pc from a family member who was upgrading to an Apple device and knowing that I had no laptop, thought it would be a good idea to giver me their's. Though the screen is minute, the speed at which the netbook processes tasks is unbelievable. One minus that a select few might not appreciate is the fact that the netbook uses Windows 7 Starter which prohibits the owner from set a desktop wallpaper and other personalization tools. There is also the slight disappointment with the webcam. If one is thinking about purchasing this netbook for the webcam, them I would seriously suggest reconsidering for a different netbook or device, period. The web tends to be blurry and doesn't even deliver enough light. The pictures it takes are of a very low quality, but the portability, the durability and the speed of the device make up for these minor kinks.

I purchased the Asus 1015PE netbook from a retailer who was stopping carrying laptops in the physical store 11 months ago, so I got a nice discount on it but would have paid the asking price had I used one as I have now. Overall I love this laptop, it is very lightweight but also sturdy. It automatically goes into hibernate mode which is nice, keeps my work from getting deleted and saves my battery life. The battery lasts on average about 5 hours but charges very quickly. A couple of things that I don't like, that don't impact what I can do on the laptop but kept my from giving it 5 stars; when you shut it down it takes forever "updating" before it actually shuts off, in addition you can't set a screensaver. This doesn't bother me now as much as it did when I first got it because I have realized that there isn't a screen saver because it does go straight into hibernate mode which saves the battery even more then a screen saver would. Mine came with Microsoft 2010 Starter which included Excel and Word, I haven't yet needed to upgrade as I haven't had a need to do powerpoints etc. Comes with your basic computer games as well as a new game I hadn't heard of called "purble place" which my kids love and basically has them creating things. There is no cd drive in this netbook but it does have 3 usb connections.

My daughters (5 and 8) wanted laptops for Christmas. We decided on these little netbooks and have been extremely pleased. There is a lot power in this little package. The netbooks were easy to set up as soon as they were out of the box. Wireless connectivity was also a breeze. The battery life is great and being able to take the netbook from room to room is also a plus. There is no dvd drive, but this was not a problem for us. We use the USB to upload software,games,movies and music. Our girls are pleased and with the price tag, so are we. This is a great starter netbook for younger users. The 'mouse' on the netbook is a little difficult for my 5 year old to use. As a replacement, we purchased separately a wireless mouse.

For the most part I am very happy with this computer. It works to get my school work done which was the most important thing. It is very light weight and small so it is easy to bring with me anywhere. The down side to this computer is that it does not have a rom drive. Everything I want on the computer must either be downloaded or put on a USB drive. This is not so bad for me because it is rare that I would absolutely need a rom drive but on occassion I realize that it would be nice to have one. There have been times when I have had issues with everything being slow and a slow startup but usually that is normal for a year old computer. What I think is not normal is that it sometimes does very weird things. In addition, this is my second Asus because my first broke after only a few months. My son got ahold of it and somehow started a ghost program that completely stopped the computer altogether. I fear that something might have been wrong with it and the same thing may be wrong with my current one. Luckily I was able to just go get a new one to replace the old one which means that unless you keep a lot of valuable documents on your computer without any backup then this computer is still great even if you do have to go back to the store to get a new one every year.

Got this computer so I could do some lightwork on the computer and still keep it out of little hands. My primary concern was being able to close it up and sock it away so my kids wouldn't be able to touch it. I wanted to be able to do it in a hurry. This machine is small enough to do just that. I don't have to search for a large place to put it - I can just close it up - stash it and go. An added bonus is that its a strong little computer. I use it to search the internet and check my email. I can keep multiple pages open at once for my research. It never slows down. I have no problem using the mouse pad at the thumb. The battery goes all day and I USE it! The screen is the perfect size. Love it!

I hate this stupid netbook, it's terrible and it can't function properly at all. It barely serves it's basic function, which is internet use, and it freezes on me all the time, especially when I'm typing essays on the word processor or video chatting. There hasn't been one day that I've had this netbook that it hasn't frozen on me.

This Eee PC is great. It does everything an ultra-portable laptop should do and it does it with no toll on your back like a heavy laptop would. I am an ASUS customer. I always prefer ASUS products over others and I do this because I have noticed that ASUS's build quality is far superior than that of any other computer brand out there. Also, ASUS gives you a great bargain for the performance and durability of their products. However, the Eee PC lacks in performance. This is not ASUS's problem but a problem with windows. Windows 7 starter is not exactly a good operating system. Although Windows 7 is great, Windows 7 starter is just unbearable. The boot time is ridiculously slow and the program load times are just time consuming. The boot up time seems eternal. I did not time it but I am sure I would get bored just timing it. If you are going to buy an Eee PC I would recommend the Windows XP version.
