I purchased this switch roughly a year ago since I am constantly transfering files across my home network and got annoyed with having to wait for the files to get transfered. After researching switches, I decided to go with this ASUS since I already have an ASUS router and that has been working fine for me for almost a year. Once I recieved the switch, I hooked it up after my router which was simple and easy to do. I then hooked up the two computers I wanted to transfer files between and did some speed tests to make sure everything was working correctly. Before using this switch I was getting around 10 MB/s when transfering between my two computers. After the switch was installed, I was getting around 50-60 MB/s from single files and around 30-40 MB/s from multiple files. Overall I am happy with the increase in speed and now I spend less time waiting around for files to be transfered. If you have to transfer files across your network frequently and hate waiting all day, then this gigabit switch is for you.
