Very looong and drawn-out account of what made Jesse James a popular hero, despite his being a racist, secessionist, thief and murderer, and why Robert Ford was deemed a coward for shooting him.
Facts of the situation aside, I wasn't overly impressed by the characters. Nothing about the film makes James (played by Brad Pitt) a sympathetic character. Nor does it help Robert Ford's (Casey Affleck) case. It's just a long retelling of the events before, during and after the assassination.
The acting wasn't compelling enough to hold my attention. I kept having to drag myself back to it and kept asking "is it over yet? How long is this movie?"
Fans of Pitt, Affleck, James or Ford may enjoy the film, but I can't recommend it.
