I thought splurging "big time" on a top of the line dishwasher was money well invested. WRONG!

This dishwasher, the ASKO 3531, cleans great. Superbly! I'll give it that.

HOWEVER:

The inside set-up, for all of its fancy up and down dish-holders (and some of them flip down all the time at inopportune moments!), does not allow for nearly as many dishes being put in as the KtichenAid it was replacing. We estimate that it holds just over a half of the amount of dirty dishes! It looks great inside in the store, but at home and loading the dishwasher, it is a completely different story! This dishwasher would be great for a playhouse. It would be a very expensive toy, but just suited! I call it my "miniature" dishwasher. I feel like I am "playing house" everytime I put something in it! It is just upsetting to know I have three payments of $640 each (with no interest) to pay for this mistake.

Don't get fooled by the "tall tub". Big deal if you are losing space for all the everyday things! You would gladly give up your tall tub for a deeper top rack!

The auto cycle takes three hours and the other washing cycles are nearly as long! Seriously! THREE HOURS! The salesman warned us in advance, but we thought we could adapt, just the two of us. NOT SO!!!

Again, it cleans absolutely great. Just scrape and wash. But be well aware that you will be waiting and waiting for it to finish and unloading a precious few things all the darned time! I'd rather scrap and rinse and be unloading a huge amount of dishes an hour later!
