Ashford University - Review Summary
Internet- based collegiate studies offer some distinct advantages to traditional colleges and one online institution that some might want to consider is
Ashford University. This internet college has much to offer the busy student, like affordability, a helpful staff, and the convenience that only online study can bring. But Ashford University has its problems, like hidden fees, lack of teacher/student interaction, and the unpredictable Blackboard software that Ashford University utilizes. Ashford University is a “Great Way to Earn a Degree”, but other reviewers disagree, making statements like “Much Better Choices Elsewhere”. It adds up to a questionable
Colleges or University that may not suit every student.

Favorable Review
I'm in the middle of the MBA program at Ashford University. First of all, I'd like to say that I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the program so far. As someone who earned their bachelor's degree at a traditional campus school, I was a little apprehensive about going to class online.…

Critical Review
I have experienced several online educational programs, as both a student and an instructor, and Ashford would most definitely be at the bottom of the list. For the first couple of courses, I was happy with the university, except for the truly horrible "Blackboard" technology. However, this was the…

believe in higher education, appreciative of good service, married, Employed Full Time
When my husband expressed interest in going back to school to earn his degree in Early Childhood Education I was very supportive. Our major concern was the cost and how he would find time to do it. I sat down and researched schools that offered online courses in the field he was interested in. Ashford University was the one school that we kept going back to. I filled out the form online to get more information and within 15 minutes someone had called him and was answering all of the questions that we had. When the campus in California was closed due to the wild…

paying for school
I've been in class since 02/26/2008 and so far it's been a pretty good experience. My financial aid award was received yesterday and I didn't receive any grants, which was for the most part expected. I'm happy with this as long as my tuition is covered. I'm in the Psy202 class that is required, even though I've already taken the exact same class at another college. I guess I can understand why people would have to take it since some people in my class can't even figure out how to post their assignments. My advisor has been great! She calls at least once a…

a serious student, Every day computer user, a good test taker, paying for school
This school is great and I would tell anyone who is thinking about going to go to this one. When I was thinking about going back to school, I wanted a school that fit into my schedule, took my Associate degree and gave me a great education. Ashford did all this and even got me loans!! I get a refund from my loans that i use to pay for books and bills. The professors are great and challenge me. I have been attending the school since July 2007 and I am a retail manager. This means my hours are odd and I like online school because I can post whenever I have time. (sometimes this is at 4:00am) I…

First of all, I'll start from the end of this mess and work my — way back. I had originally tried to contact either G.T. or S.E. — (initially Mr. T.) on numerous occasions (they work in — collections for the "university"). Sometimes a few times in the — same day. I would not hear back from them, except for a voice — mail occasionally asking for payment. The original problem — stemmed from a misprint on my financial aid upon enrolling. I do — admit that that was a mistake on my part (my wife was trying to — be helpful by finishing my…

Every day computer user, paying for school
The price is not that affordable. And please read the fine print before enrolling. The program is greatly advertised and they provide perks to get you in. Waived application fees and a book voucher for your first course. The first course will be a "reflection course" but they consider it a required credited course. Make sure that the degree plan you choose will allow you to pay the loans after you graduate. Lets say $30,000 with some credits from previous college work and then apply the 6% interest for the 10 year period = $483 monthly payments /120 payments = $57,960 wow, thats just for…
