I had seen many commercials for the "Hair Away" hair removal product. My first impression is that it would be quick and easy to use. My sister and I had both discussed wanting to try it. So while in Walgreens I saw it for $9.99 and decided to pick it up. After getting home and reading the instructions I noticed the big red stop sign that read "warning". I thought to myself a product like this should not require a warning notice. However, it stated that you should use the product in a circular motion alternating directions every 5 strokes to avoid skin irritations. After examining the product it looked like a really fine piece of sand paper. Who in their right mind would want to scrape a piece of sand paper across their leg? I thought it couldn't be that bad since the product was intended to be used on skin.
So the product works but not as well as they claim. First, your skin needs to be completely dry. It will not work if you use after getting out of the shower or applying lotion. Second, it takes a while and you have to do many strokes to get the hair off especially on the legs or areas that have thicker hair. And of course you don't want to apply too much pressure or it will lead to skin irriation. Third, it is difficult to consistently remove all the hair especially around the knee. After about 30 minutes I finally finished, my skin was a bit red but felt smooth and exfoliated. Stubble reappeared the next day. The one pad lasted the first session and half way through the second. Used it twice with the same results, haven't used it since.
