As Seen on TV One Touch Can Opener Review Summary

Have a tough time opening cans? The One Touch Can Opener received mixed reviews from our users. Some loved it as it was great for those with disabilities and reasonably priced. Other felt that it was ineffective and the disadvantages of having batteries go dead without notice or having a finger cut trying to remove the lid outweighed whatever benefits it may provide. Kff894 says, “Easy to store, easy to use, and worth the money. I just wish it was a bit more dependable. “ Amsavol “When we saw the one touch can opener, we were so excited! “ However after trying and returning and trying again, it apparently took a magic “touch” to get this can opener to work. Maybe there is another cooking tools and gadgets that might make your life in the kitchen a little easier?

Never did I think that I would believe any ad on tv.  I saw the

ad for the one touch battery operated can opener and thought to

myself, "that's too good to be true."  Probably won't work the

way that they show it on tv.  Have seen them on sale in stores,

but the price was always $19.99, a bit pricey...

The One Touch can opener works great until the battery goes dead in the middle of opening a can.  It is so hard to turn the screw, as the directions say to do when it jams, the screw striped out as I turned it.  I managed to free the can from One Touch after a struggle.  However, now the screw is... read full review »

Well Well....This product was cool a while back and it certainly works and works good BUT both the battery and the unit dont hold up.  In a relatively short period of time I bought 5 of these and they were dropping like flies.  They just dont last.  I have a tough time finding a great canopener and my basement shelves can prove it but I just found one and so far it is great and it is by West End.  This hands free unit started as a five but ended as a 3...It does work well....Another point about this is that when you open a can of tuna fish or something like that, it takes the rigidness out...

This can opener came to me after being recommended by a friend.  I was a little skeptical but  I was enticed by its small size and ease of storing in an already crowded kitchen.  This gadget fits easily in my large utensil drawer.  As far as the products abilities, that won me over.  I have yet to discover a can that it can't handle.  It might be a small thing, but after struggling with cans that get stuck in the appliance and the mess that occurs after wrestling the open can away from the appliance, I am thrilled with this little gadget that does its job so efficiently.

I bought the One Touch can opener, because I thought it would be easy to use with one hand.  My neighbor had warned me against buying it, but I got a good deal on it and tried it anyway.  It was easy to use with one hand, but it never opens a can on the first try.  I have to restart it several times, before it opens the lid enough for me to twist off the lid.  It usally leaves a little of the lid still stuck to the can, so I have to twist it off.  It is supposed to break the seal between the lid and the can, but all it usually does is make a mess.  I open very few cans, so I still use it...

When we saw the one touch can opener, we were so excited!  Who doesn't love this premise? We had to have one and went out to Wal-Mart and purchased one.  When we got home, however, the one touch can opener we bought didn't work.  It would only cut the label on the can, and no matter how we positioned it, or repositioned it, it simply would not cut the can open.  So, we took it back and exchanged it for another one touch can opener.  When we got this one home, it didn't work either.  It just wouldn't turn on to cut anything!  We tried different batteries, no luck!  We read the directions...

If you have had it with those great big on top of the counter can openers, then this is for you.  I love my One Touch Can Opener. I received it as a gift from my step mother.  She has had one for several years and if she likes it then anyone would.  I just set this opener on my can and press the big black button and walk away.  It always starts and stops by it self and the top is totally removed.  Just be careful of the can edge so that you don't cut your fingers.  I never have and that says a lot, becaue I tend to be a little accident prone.  I can't say enough about this product, except,...

On the whole, I do like this can opener -- but there are a couple of negatives to note.  It says 'one touch' to get the thing going; it's never been less than three pushes on the start button.  It works, mostly, going around the can rim until it turns itself off, and most of the time the can top really is removed.  Not always; about 1 out of 4 times, the lid is still fastened to the can and more action is needed.  When it does work, however, it's great; you can get it started, go do something else while it scoots around, and just lift the lid off with the magnet when you're ready to dump what's... read full review »

It is so easy to use and no sharp edges. It runs by batteries, so you can open any can any place you want. Opens any size or shape can. Just put on top of can and it adjusts itself to size of can and then opens  by itself. It comes in pink or white and is easy and safe for any one to use. I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond and saved $5 with a coupon I received it the mail. It would make a thoughtful gift for anyone even if they have a can opener already. Once they use it I bet they will never use any other can opener again.

I am the mother of a family of six, so as you can imagine I cook a lot and open a lot of cans in the process. I also have carpal tunel in both hands, so I hate doing it with an old fashioned can opener. This one touch opener is great! it is pretty fast- about the same time as a hand opener. It is clean and compact and so far after almost two months of almost daily use, I am still on the same set of batteries. The only down fall that Ican see is that I used to use the lid to drain vegitables from the can but it is difficult with this product.

While this product was extremely easy to use, it was difficult to remove the can lid from the opener. It tended to get stuck and had to be pried off. Also, while it opened the cans in a timely manner, the battery got drained very quickly.

I found that this product, while looked good for an elderly or disabled person, that is was in fact that that great an option. My eighty six year old grandmother had an extremely hard time trying to figure out how to use it.

My son bought me this opener for Mother's Day.  I was a little wary of it, but it actually works like it says.  The biggest problem I found with it was that it is hard to drain the juice out of the cans because of the way it takes the lids off.  The only other problem was that it won't open my very large cans.  I really do like it though, especially when I have a lot of different cans to open.  It certainly saves my wrist!

Great invention, makes life easier for everyone. Especially when you get older

like me. I love it!, You just press down lightly and walk away, it opens the can all by itself. It sure beats my old can-opener. I would recommend this ONE TOUCH  can-opener for everyone. It's fast, convenient, easy to use ,price is good-$20.00, and it's like the Energize bunny it just keeps going for all size cans.

Works really well on regular size cans.  The smaller the can the harder to open.  Small cans like tomato paste is impossible to open.  The reverse works well if it gets stuck.  Make sure you have fresh batteries in gadget because it's a bear to get it open without spilling the insides of the can if you run out of juice.  Is still pretty good for people with arthritis.
