I have been on a quest to find the perfect sweeper to use on my hardwood and ceramic tile floors. I have used the Swiffer Sweep and Vac and the Rubbermaid Dual Action Sweeper  with limited or no success. With the Swiffer I didn't like having to empty or throw away the sweeper cloths (nor did I like the expense). The Rubbermaid was a disappointment. Not being a believer of claims on As Seen on TV products I hesitated, but then at the Linens and Things going out of business sale I couldn't resist the  Swivel Sweeper for Floors Vacuum.

I found the Swivel Sweeper for Floors Vacuum  to be terrific on hardwood floors and my tile.  The swivel action head made it easy to get around furniture, underneath my couch, and even get dirty little corners in the bathroom.  The push button release that dumped dirty right into my trash can kept me from getting dirty and the battery really can hold a charge, I could do almost the whole downstairs of approximately 1200 sq feet and still have a charge left.  I like that it is rechargeable -- no batteries to worry about.  It comes with it's own "toothbrush" as my daughter calls it for cleaning out the bristles.

The Swivel Sweeper for Floors Vacuum is not so great on carpets or area rugs.  I found I would rather just pull out the Hoover and we have so little carpet (just the bedrooms) that it wasn't worth the effort to do anything else.

Overall, I was so pleased with my Swivel Sweeper for Floors Vacuum! My friends asked me about it. I could easily sweep my floors every night and go to bed to see a clean floor -- which is absolutely necessary with small children.

But, I broke it. While using it underneath the couch a couble of fabric softener sheets (escapees from the laundry basket) got caught up in the bristles.  I couldn't get it out.  My dad did fix it, but between that and the dog hair that doesn't come out of the bristles easily, it's running on low power right now and no longer the floor sweeping superman it was.  It's not the poor Swivel Sweeper's fault I didn't look first.

Price: $38.00 (unless you got the sale I did making it $21.00!)

Well, I KNOW where the perfect mop is but I can't afford it. It's called a maid! I have white and gray marble linoleum in my kitchen and the swirls look like scuffs. I am always thinking the floor is dirty ;+( I really want hardwood floors in all the rooms except for the bedrooms.

I've been wondering about all these swiffer brooms and mops and such. Thanks for the review. I really do need a good mop though.
