As Seen On TV Swivel Sweeper for Floors Vacuum —

It seems I'm always on the lookout for a new product to clean my Pergo floors. Sweeping works marginally well and is always an okay standby, but with the amount of dog hair that accumulates, all that seems to do is make it airborne. I first saw the Swivel Sweeper here on Viewpoints, so for me it's not As Seen On TV, but As Seen On Viewpoints, and reading the reviews, it looked like a must for me. It has now become my favorite new thing.

Like most As Seen On TV products, it's also available at Walgreens, so I purchased it there, instead of online or over the phone, for $40, the same price I would pay online, but saving me the shipping cost. I could buy one, get one free at the website, but pay double the exorbitant shipping charges, so it didn't seem worth it to me.

The one thing I didn't get on this Swivel Sweeper that I would have gotten by buying the one, getting the one free, on the website is the elbow joint on the sweeper that allows you to bend it to get under furniture. It seems it's the early version that I bought, while the next version is the one for sale at the website. No bother, though, as the joint that holds the sweeper head onto the pole is flexible enough that I can get under stuff anyway.

The Swivel Sweeper is easy to put together, and stays easy. Instead of having to leave it charging on the wall, and falling over all the time like other similar cordless products I've used, you only have to charge the battery pack, instead of the whole unit. It says it carries 45 minutes of charge, and with all of my home done in Pergo or tile, including stairs, and with only two bedrooms as an exception to that rule, I can cover my whole house easily with a full charge.

It truly picks up everything, even small debris that ends up on the floor, and yes, all of the dog hair. It's just a matter of how often you have to empty it. There are buttons on the sweeper head that allow you to empty it out without having to touch it with your hands, but frankly I do anyway. They even include a little tool that has a small wire comb on one end, and what looks like a seem ripper on the other, to dislodge any debris, or cut strings that get caught around the rollers. The dog hair I pick up gets wound around the rollers as well, and usually I find it goes quicker just to get in there and clear the whole thing out with my hands, but I've also used the tool.

The sweeper head is flexible to turn different directions, as well as getting under the furniture. I've also found this the easiest tool so far to sweep completely my Pergo covered stairs and landing. It's so lightweight and easy to carry, it's literally like carrying a broom, maybe even lighter, and again the swivel head on it allows the manipulation on the stairs.

It would be easy enough for my kids to use, but I don't let them, as it seems every time I get a favorite vacuum/sweeper, it breaks after they use it. So I do the work, which doesn't seem too much like work, with this one on my own. I like it too much to chance it breaking or not working as well anymore.

No, I have the original version, because I bought it at Walgreens, instead of on the phone or the website. There is suction. There isn't the same as a regular full-powered vacuum, but there is suction. I have a lot of dog hair, and some gets caught in the bristles and some gets pulled all the way up into the collection cup. I wouldn't get all the way to the collection cup without suction.

thanks great review - just a few quick questions - did you get the G2 version? and does it actually have suction like a vacuum? I read one review that said no suction at all just the bristles turn and kick up the dirt into the sweeper cup and that's how it picks up - is that true in your opinion?.
