I can not believe there is a review that this thing is as good as any foot scrub. I have tried numerous scrubs, epsom salts, pumice stones and other "scrapers" that involve razor blades and NOTHING has cleaned up my feet.
Let me start by saying that I suffered for years not understanding why my feet looked dirty even freshly out of the shower.... I mean it was so bad that yearly the Dr. would say "put your feet in the stirrups" and I would follow w/ "okay but my feet are clean, I dont' know why they look that way". The Dr. and nurse would laugh but never suggested it was the dry, dead skin.
Then I got obese and type 2 diabetes and it went from bad to worse.. The skin on my feet got thick and hard. I was worried because I felt I was losing feeling in my feet ( real nerve damage that can be caused by diabetes). I tried many things ( see above) and nothing worked.
I saw this but thought "no way" we all know "as seen on TV" things rarely work. I had a coupon and some Extra Care Bucks for CVS that was going to expire soon and I thought "what the heck did I have to lose". I bought one for me and one for DD.
NOW for the WARNING: All "scraper" type items have a "do not use if your diabetic" warning on them. This is because w/ the nerve damage you should cut yourself, not know it and it could become infected without you knowing it and get gangrenous and you could end needing to have an amputation. Now I tend ignore warnings...lol so I used sharp products. I DO NOT Feel the pedegg is any danger to you, but USE wisely and check your feet often for signs of injury or infection!
Now back to my review...so I used this and was shocked by the amount of "dust" that was flying out of it....YES the claim that it holds all the skin is wrong, you can see little "clouds" of skin/dust every so many strokes across your feet. I just kept at it and was even more shocked by the amount of skin that did manage to stay in the pedegg.
What shocked me most was when I walked... my feet were actually sensitive to stepping on things. I could not believe it, I HAD Feeling in my feet, it was just buried under thick, hard skin.
Me and DD have been using this for over a year now and we still LOVE it. The now make one w/ a handle but I hate to spend money on something I already have. I have since lost 90lbs and using the one w/o the handle is getting easier and easier but if you or a loved one is obese consider the handled version that sells for $12.99 ( instead of $9.99)
Looking back at it, I don't know if the diabetes ( known to cause different skin issues) causes the thick callous' on feet or the weight, I mean imagine what your feet go through every day.... now image adding 200 EXTRA pounds to that work load!
