    Can be bought at drugstores everywhere, easy to use, not sharp, won't cut you, traps dry skin, removes dry skin

Cons
    Doen't trap all dry skin

The ped egg is a worthwhile tool--does a great job of removing dead skin gently.  I find it gratifying (in a disgusting way) to see all the dead skin that I've scraped off in such a nice, neat little pile.  I wouldn't say it's completely mess free, but it does contain the mess better than a traditional foot file.
