Bottom-Line: As I Am feels and sounds more personal, more wistful and wishful; Keys is singing about the state of her soul

Upon release, As I Am, like its predecessors won wide-spread critical acclaim and debuted on the charts at No. 1 selling some 742,000 copies in its first week of release making it...

This album is boring and bland.  If you like oversung songs, this is the one for you.

I liked 'No One' when it first came out but now I'm sick of it.

The rest of the album sounds like the first single and every one of her other songs.

She has made no music that stands out from all the other r&b music singers...

After hearing her single played on the radio and videos, I knew that Alicia Keys new cd "As I Am" would be the bomb. Last week I saw her show on BET "Alicia Keys by Request" and it was really great. I think that her new cd shows that she has matured a whole lot and has put her music on another level. She is a very extraordinary person who has really put alot into this cd and made it what it is. Her music is so phenomenal on this cd that it's like I can relate to some of the things that she is talking about. I think as an artist she is one of the best.

I love her music so much that it has touched...

since she came into the music world as a r&b artist,  i hadn't felt so much soul in a song since whitney houston.  you can tell that she actually feels what she is singing.  i listen to the sound that comes from deep within and it brings tears to my eyes.  for here voice literally touches my soul.  I thank you for being the woman that you are.  so to show how honored i am by you .  i write these words just for you......

Oh, what can I do to let you know
my love is for real
As I lay on the beach as the stars peek through;
Just let me love you for no reason,
during each and every season,
Watching...

This is a remarkable cd. Several tracks speak to me. I appreciate music I am able to connect with---and this is such music. I enjoy Alicia Keys' music and have since album #1. She is gifted and her giftedness radiates through her music. I really appreciate the cornucopia of sound on this particular cd. She begins with a classical opening track and takes you on a journey through many genres throughout the cd. She is awesome.

Alicia Keys touches on a societal issue dear to my heart, "single mothers", mothers and women in general. Not only is the sound and technical aspects of the cd marvelous but...

Originally I was not even going to consider buying this cd, my daughter prodded me into getting this cd. I am for once glad I listened to her, this cd is oustanding,it is new and not a repeat of her past music. Should she continue this way muscially she will be well on her way, if not there already. Three songs did it for me, "Lessons Learned "with John Mayer was stellar, then she got me with"Tell You Something"(Nana'sReprise),she brought it home with" Like You Will Never See Me Again". Oh there is much more to this cd, these are the songs that moved me.On a whole, you do not have enough stars... review »

Great song...I just want you close
Where you can stay forever
You can be sure
That it will only get better

You and me together
Through the days and nights
I don't worry 'cause
Everything's going to be alright
People keep talking they can say what they like
But all i know is everything's going to be alright

No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you, you, you
Can get in the way of what I feel for you

When the rain is pouring down
And my heart is hurting
You will always be around
This I know for certain

You and me together
Through the...

Alicia Keys is such a soulful R&B artist.  Her music is very classy, inspiring, as well as entertaining.  If you have not had the opportunity to check out the album yet, As I Am, run DO NOT walk to your nearest entertainment store and pick it up.  This is one you will enjoy every track.  Some of my favorite tracks are, 3, 4, 5, just to list a few.  When I say it's an album for everyone, I mean it since even my 3 year old daughter loves the album and asks me to put on Alicia Keys.  Track 4, she say's that's my song, and track 5 she say's that's your song momma!  If you are looking for an... review »

This is a great album all the way through. "No one" has such a great grinding beat with meaningful lyrics. I'm not a big Alicia Keys fan, but this album made me listen. Not only some jamming, but also some soft relaxing tunes. "Like You'll Never See Me Again" is a softer love song. "Lesson Learned" features John Mayer. "I Need You" boasts a beat you can thump to. "Where Do We Go From Here" has some interesting background and the beat you need.

This Album is great and her best so far. I love AK for her soulful talent but I must admit i am not an advid fan. AK seems to get better over time, I'm probably the only person in the world who did not like her first album. i still don't understand it "Fallin'" is still to me the most boring uncreative song of the 00s. Her second grew on me but faded fast. AS I AM is the first LP of hers where i liked every track. Alicia is finding herself and where her voice can lay. Great album

Well this cd is great and fool of nice rythem and a lot of soul. The song that catched my ear first was "NO One", because it's great it makes you want to sing and think about so many things. On that cd i recommend too Wreckless Love and Tell You Something i think they have a good beat and nice melody and  the words are great. I will recommend it to all my friends and family. Truly is a goooood cd. So go buy it NOW.

This CD has great music, but when local stations play the same song or two every fifteen minutes it makes me not want to play the cd AT ALL!

Alicia, however, is a very talented pianist.  She has a true talent on the keys, and she is fully capable of entertaining.  The production is slick, but very commercial.  The sound quality is top-notch, as well.

The album is great. There are some different sounds on the album that are great. There are some of the same sounds we are used to from Alicia on there too, which is good. It gives some variety. There are some great dance songs and listening songs. In all, its a great album espically if you love Alicia. And if you don't, you will still like it.
