This portable speaker system comes in a small enough size to take almost anywhere. It isn't made out of cheap plastic, which is a great to know. It can be powered either by 4 AA batteries or an AC adaptor. The top of the speaker system comes with a on and off switch, and a simple, yet effective volume control. The cord connecting the mp3 player or ipod is unusually short, so it can be stored inside the battery compartment. When i first used it, I noticed that the system has a good quality sound, but only if you play it at a soft or medium volume. When it goes to a high volume, the speakers start clipping the base nosies. So, i wouldn't recommend this speaker system for people who like heavy metal music. The actual speakers are protected by a strong wire mesh that has resisted scratches, dents, and drops. There are two useful rubber grips at the bottom of the speaker, but one of them fell off in only a couple of days, so it doesn't really do much good. Lastly, there is a light with the Art Dio logo on the top of the device, in which the color is a pleasant blue.
