Excellent Co-Sleeping Solution

5

My husband and I were very interested in co-sleeping with our first child, so we put this item on our baby registry. We were thrilled when we received it - it's been the perfect solution for us. Our son was born 6 weeks early (in January 2012), so he spent 3-1/2 weeks in the NICU and we were much more comfortable having him sleep in our room once we brought him home. We also did not want to worry about rolling over on him accidentally, so this bed allows him to be close to us without the added anxiety of a potentially unsafe sleep environment. We have the black one with the toffee-colored liner. The quilted liner makes the crib look a bit more luxe. It's very solid and we had no trouble putting it together or folding it up to move it. The mattress is very firm, so if your little one prefers something softer, this may not work.

I had a c-section and loved this co sleeper!!!

5

I bought this for my first daughter and ended up having a c-section.  I was so glad I had this co-sleeper.  It was great having my baby right next to me so I didn't have to get up out of bed during the night.  Would recommend this to anyone!

An overall great product that I wouldn't want to live without

4

I bought this so that I would have the baby right next to me at night since I knew I would want to check on her constantly and want to be able to look over and see her right away.  This product certainly allows for that.  The baby won't sleep in it at night, however.  She does fine for daytime naps, but at night she fights it.  We were able to place her carseat in the co-sleeper (it fits perfectly) and so she sleeps in that.  I'm fine with that and still love the co-sleeper because it allows for her to be next to me.  I wish the mattress was a little thicker because that may be what keeps her from sleeping on it.  She is a newborn so she may just be fussy.  Regardless, there is no other product out there that allows such closeness and yet peace of mind that she is in her own bed and not ours.  It was hard for my husband to put together even though he is very skilled at assembling.  It was easy to attach to the bed and has never been an issue since.  I do have a hard time getting out of bed because the co-sleeper is right where I would normally exit, but that is the purpose of the sleeper (to be right next to you!).  On the nights we did manage to get her to sleep in it without her car seat I still needed to sit up in bed to get her for feedings because she sleeps lower down than me.  That's no problem to me because I would rather do that than get out of bed to get her.  If you can afford to buy this I would.  It really provides peace of mind for first time parents.

Arms reach keeps baby close, in a small space

4

Our first son was a terrible sleeper. We tried everything with him, and in the end didn't get any sleep until he started sleeping throuhg the night at 15 months old. So for our second son, we decided to look into some options so that we could possibly get a little more sleep if he turned out to be as bad of a sleeper as his brother. After looking around at various kinds of bassinettes, we decided on the Arms Reach. Because we had a fairly small bedroom, we went for the "mini" style. We found it easy to set up, and much sturdier than a pack and play. We liked that it can be side-carred to the bed and also used on it's own as a bassinette. I like that it comes with it's own sheet, and it can also fit regular bassinette sheets. We also loved that it was very convenient (although it's a bit heavy) to take along when we travelled, as it folds up much smaller than a pack and play. I loved that it is very secure in either position, and all the diferent pieces velcro to each other so that there isn't a loose sheet or any loose flaps or sides. Unfortunately, though, we didn't find that it worked particularly well as a "side-car" because the sides are not adjustable, and our particular bed height didn't quite match with the side of the Arms Reach. It wasn't unsafe, because of the under-the-mattress tightening strap, but it also wasn't comfortable to get the baby out during the night. I had also been expecting it to be level with the bed, like an extension of our mattress (like the full sized Arms Reach is), but the mini version sits slightly lower, with a small lip. This is probably safe for the baby, but again it makes it harder to reach the baby to get him out or to comfort her during the night.

Arms Reach Mini Co-Sleeper Overall a Good Product

4

I was lucky enough to inherit this item from my sister-in-law, so I don't know how much it is new. But I found it very practical in the first few months of my daughter's life. It is less bulky than most pack n plays, and I found it was easy to transfer my daughter in and out of it to feed her. She seemed comfortable as she also enjoyed lying in it to play and kick her legs. I also like that it is easy to roll it from room to room and/or collapse it for travel. The other feature I appreciated was the optional incline. My daughter spit up like the exorcist and suffered from acid reflux, so the incline helped us out. I did not attach the co-sleeper to my bed because I found it was better for my back to sit up and pick her up with my feet on the ground. This item has less use later on than a pack n play because it is smaller and once they can roll over and sit up, it is less safe. However, for those first few months, I really appreciated having it!

Arm's Reach Co-sleeper is the best for new parents

5

We bought this for our most recent baby. The loved the Arm's Reach mini-co-sleeper. Having the baby so close, yet no in the bed is so helpful for a tired mother. There is a long, adjustable strap that goes under your mattress and makes sure the arm's reach co-sleeper is secure against the bed, so there is no way the baby could fall in between the bed and co-sleeper. There is a bar in between the co-sleeper and your bed. With this bar, the baby cannot roll into your bed, which is safer. Unfortunately, it also means you cannot just roll the baby to you when it it time to feed the baby. You do have to sit up to get the baby. It's an inconvenience, but it is for the safety of the baby. I liked that the co-sleeper is on wheels (that can be locked), so during the day, you can unhook the co-sleeper from your bed, fold up the side (easy velcro) and you have a bassinett you can easy wheel around the house as you move throughout the day. One drawback was the price of the sheets. With a baby, you must have extra sheets for middle of the night accidents, and the sheets to fit this were very expensive. Overall, I would recommend it, and I will use it again if we are blessed with another baby.

The Arms Reach Mini Co-Sleeper is a life saver!

The Arms Reach Mini Co-Sleeper is a lifesaver!  I wanted to have the baby close to me so I didn't have to go up and down the hall twelve times a night to feed her, and this was exactly what we needed.  We never attached ours to the bed, because right after giving birth I couldn't exactly scoot down to the foot of the bed to get around the sleeper and get up to go to the bathroom.  We just kept it a few inches from my side of the bed so I could still get out easily, but she was still just an arms reach away.  There is a lot of storage, but it was a little difficult for us to get to because there wasn't much room on the backside of the sleeper between it and the wall.  It was a good place to store extra sheets (we just used king sized pillow cases instead of purchasing the cover because they were much cheaper, and honestly easier to change). Though there isn't a designated spot that you can attach a mobile to it, we did manage to get one on it, but you have to pull aside the fabric that's around the corners and sort of shove it in.

Must have

5

I think this is a must have for all parents of new borns.  I don't know how people do it without this.  I used the full size co-sleeper for my oldest two children and used the mini version for my youngest.  I like the smaller version better because it took up less space in my bedroom and made my baby feel snuggled in.  It is a downfall that you can't use the mini version as a pack n play later in life, but I never really felt the need for one so it didn't really bother me.  I liked having the baby right next to my bed so that I could nurse him during the night, let him fall asleep, and then put him safely into his own space.  We had tried a hammock bed thing for our youngest, but we returned it because it was too complicated.  This was easy and safe.  One of the best features is that there is a zipper window in the paneling under the bed part so that you can store stuff in the unused area under the mattress.  And there are large side pockets for diapers and wipes.  Great invention!

Arm's Reach Co-sleeper great for breastfeeding mamas

4

We recently purchased the arm's reach mini co-sleeper for our newborn. We had used the bassinet portion of a pack and play with our first child and I found it really cumbersome for a sleep deprived parent to get out of bed every time I wanted to check on the baby or get the baby to feed him. The co-sleeper is the perfect solution to this. It attaches right to your bed so that there is no danger of it pushing away and the opening on the side close to my bed is low enough for me to reach right in and pick her up without having to get out of bed. It's also perfect since we are breast feeding and I can just pop her in and out with ease. I would imagine this would also be a great solution for women that have had a c-section birth. The colors that it comes in are great very neutral. It's easy to set up, easy to clean. My one complaint is that the sheets for this particular bed are a little pricey, but I've found that my changing table sheets also fit in a pinch. Overall, great product if you want you baby close to you in those early weeks.

Solved our sleeping problems

5

When I first had my daughter I thought that we would have her sleep in our bed with us for the first few months. This didn't work too well, however, as my husband was always afraid of smothering her with the blankets and I wouldn't move a muscle so as not to let roll or fall. My daughter and I finally ended up in the guest bed where we had more room, but I hated to sleep apart from my husband. Enter the Arm's Reach co-sleeper. This is a fantastic idea. Its a little bed the exact height of your bed with guard wals on three sides of it. It allows you to have the baby "in" bed with you, while giving everyone their own space. It was wonderful for breastfeeding because we didn't have to get up to go get my daughter whenever she cried, I was able to simply move her from the co-sleeper up next to me, feed her, and then quietly put her back. Co-sleeping has proven to be very healthy for mother and baby and helps to regulate breathing patterns and body temperature. I was glad that this allowed us to do that while keeping my baby safe. Love it!
