Quick View: Armani Exchange is overpriced, self indulgent, and their customer service is absolutely awful. I wouldn't shop on the site again of everything was a penny and I really mean that.
About Armani Exchange Online
This website carries lofty priced men's and women's clothing and accessories. Shipping is a flat $6.00 and returns are supposedly free. The prices are high for the quality. You pay for the name.
That aside, I ordered a polo shirt for my husband a few weeks ago. There was a sale so I took advantage of it. When I put the shirt into my cart, instead of the advertised $10.00 being taken off the $48.00 shirt, $20.00 was taken off. I was perplexed and tried others and they all had $20.00 off instead of the advertised $10.00. I only bought one shirt and got my confirmation email.
Days went by and I heard nothing so I checked Paypal. I saw that Armani Exchange charged me the actual price rather than the price minus the $20.00 off. Hmm. That wasn't good. I waited a while for some sort of confirmation of shipment and nothing ever came.
Finally, I wrote to their customer service asking where the shirt I apparently paid full price for was. They wrote back saying it was out of stock, the order was canceled, and I wasn't charged.
Well that's baloney. I wrote back and said I was TOO charged and they only went "out of stock:" when they saw the $20.00 off price. That was NOT my issue. It was their price on their website and not on one shirt but on all the styles on sale.
They sent back a quick email saying simply that I would be refunded. Nothing else.
So let's sum up. This site took an order from me, processed it, overcharged me, then never bothered to email me about the status of my order. They probably never would have if I hadn't inquired as to where my order was. Then they suddenly decided that the shirt was out of stock. And they also asserted that I wasn't charged. But I was. Now I am sitting here waiting for the promised refund from a site that overcharges, doesn't communicate with their consumers, and baits and switches when their site has a glitch.
Remember, I didn't get the $20.00 off the shirt as I was supposedly charged. I have the receipt that shows exactly how much I was supposed to have been charged. They charged me the full price. And they left me hanging and had no intention of ever sending me the order.
To that I say to Armani Exchange, CIAO! I won't be back. If they have the biggest sale of the century and everyone is flocking there, I'll look the other way. They do bad business and bad business people don't get my hard earned cash.
My Viewpoint
I didn't cause the glitch that gave the $10.00 discount twice. I wasn't notified that I would be charged MORE than my confirmation receipt said. I wasn't notified that my order was "out of stock" at any time. I was overcharged and was not communicated with. That, to an avid online shopper like myself, is the kiss of online buying death for a website. See ya, AX, Glad I didn't get to know ya. 1 star.
