Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster —

I was thinking of buying a box of whitening strips at my online drugstore, but when I saw the average price was a whopping $30, I knew I had to find a less expensive alternative. I spotted a box of Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster on sale for $4.79 and immediately added it to my cart. I figured that even if it didn't do a fabulous job of getting my teeth whiter, I wouldn't be out of much money. I shouldn't have worried. Arm and Hammer Whitening Boost not only worked well for me, but it did it fast and easily without messy whitening strips or dental trays.

The product comes in a 2.5 ounce bottle and the manufacturer states that it has more than twice the whitening agent than the leading whitening strip. Simply apply your regular fluoride toothpaste to your wet toothbrush. Then, add an equal amount of the Whitening Booster to the toothpaste and brush as normal. Soon, you'll notice a big cloud of foam churning in your mouth. The foaming action is a result of the peroxide mixing with the toothpaste. I didn't notice much change in the taste of my toothpaste because the Whitening Boost doesn't really alter the flavor that much.

One big thing to keep in mind is that although Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster contains liquid calcium, it does not contain fluoride so don't use it alone or in lieu of fluoride toothpaste. The instructions also caution to limit use to three times per day.

So, Did It Make A Difference?

I have to say, initially, I was not overwhelmed with the results, and I do brush three times per day. However, by the end of the first week I did notice that my teeth looked much brighter. They aren't blindingly white by any means, but they just have a natural, healthy, non-stained, non-yellowed brightness. I also noticed that the silver filling in my wisdom tooth is now bright and shiny rather than dull and tea-stained. Which brings me to another plus about this product - it whitens all of your teeth, not just the front ones that the leading whitening strips are limited to.

Overall, I think if you have reasonable expectations of this product you'll fiind that it's a much better bargain than whitening strips. It's certainly not equal to what you'll get at a dentist, but it is much better than so-called whitening toothpastes and equal to some whitening strips I have tried in the past. Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster is not only enamel-safe for use everyday, but it makes it faster and easier than ever before to whiten all of your teeth.

Sounds interesting, I have been using the Listerine whitening strips but being able to even take that extra step out of my day would save me time, not to mention money!

I think maybe I'll ask or maybe even read about whiteners on the Internet. I do know that Mentadent (is I'm not mistaken) is a mixture of baking soda and peroxide. Well, I'll catch ya later.

The package doesn't say anything specifically about fillings and dental work. It mostly says that it's enamel safe for daily use if you limit to 3 times per day. The active ingredient is peroxide. If anyone has concerns, I'd suggest maybe asking the family dentist before using. :)

This wounds so helpful! I have to ask -- you mentioned fillings, do you think these whitening products are safe for fillings and dental work? Does it say anything on the package about affecting the cement that holds these things in?
