The Arai RX7 Corsair is a road riding helmet. It is fiberglass, hand made in Japan by a 50 year business. I own 2 of this style helmet. I have owned a multitude of other helmets but Arai is the best fitting and safest on the market. It has impact flexibility. All my helmets are now Arai.
Too many riders buy by price alone and they are getting cheap plastic shell helmets. Motorcycle shops these days are full of inexpensive Chinese and Korean plastic shell helmets. Avoid these. Your safety is paramount.
The Arai RX7 Corsair is comfortable and I feel safe when wearing it. There are various linings and padding available so that these helmets can fit any shape head.
It is important to be sized correctly for the helmet. Don't just walk in to a shop and pull the helmet on and say it doesn't fit. Arai makes many affordable pads and liners to fit even the strangest head. A good shop will assist you in the fitting of the helmet. You want someone to measure your head to know what padding needs to go into this helmet.
There are various visors available including clear, light and dark tints. Tints are important for different shades of lights and shields are easily interchangeable.
Another great thing about this helmet is all the adjustable vents. It has a large vent in the chin bar, two on the visor, 3 in the crown, 4 in the rear so the air flow within the helmet is infinitely adjustable.
Color choices abound from solid colors through colorful rider replica helmets. The prices range in price from four to seven hundred dollars, but isn't your head worth it?
Watch for future Arai helmet reviews.
