Quick View: I received a full sized container of Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste in the Fresh Impact flavor from a program called "She Speaks". It was not sent for me to review, just to use. They send lots of free stuff. I thought I would like this new toothpaste but I don't. It's messy and the dispenser is tough to use. Plus it's pricey and I don't see any difference in the whiteness of my teeth from when I use Sensodyne PRONAMEL Anti-Cavity Fluoride Toothpaste or Sensodyne Extra Whitening Toothpaste and they help my sensitive teeth as well as cleaning and whitening my teeth.
My Take on Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste
This toothpaste comes in an plastic standing tube with a big plastic push down top. The top is tough to manipulate and, when the paste comes out, it's hard to meter how much comes out of the tube. Sometimes a little releases, sometimes a lot. Also, I can't see through the packaging to see how much toothpaste I have left and that bugs me. The dispenser also gets foamy and messy and needs to be rinsed off or wiped down often.
Moving past the dispenser, this is actually a gel, not a paste. The color for the Fresh Impact flavor is a seafoam green/blue shade. It looks like ordinary gel until I start brushing my teeth. Suddenly, I feel like i am brushing with minty shaving cream. The gel turns to a mountain of foam, leaving me drooling and spitting as well as covering my chin with the stuff.
The taste is fresh and minty and my teeth do feel clean after I use Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste but what a mess! I tried using less but the dispenser doesn't give me good control over how much comes out so I am stuck with what dispenses and that's usually almost a brushful.
Aquafresh claims that the foam gets between teeth and covers areas where normal toothpaste doesn't. I floss and rinse well and I don't know that this toothpaste really does anything more than any other one. Toothpastes turn into liquid when I brush and they get between teeth too. With flossing, I don't see the need to spend more - about $5.99 for a 4.3 ounce container - when I don't see any visible results.
Of course, the toothpaste could be working magic between my teeth and I don't know it. But I'm skeptical of the claims. Because I have sensitive teeth and need and want extra whitening toothpastes, Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste really isn't a good fit for me. However, I will say that it doesn't irritate my sensitive teeth like many other toothpastes do and that's a plus.
My Viewpoint
My overall impression of Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste is that it is messy, average toothpaste that may or may not get between the teeth better than the others. It doesn't contain anything special in it and the container is a pain. Plus this product is expensive. Unless my dentist says this product works better than what I currently use, I'll skip it. I will use what I have but won't repurchase. My son and husband HATE it. The foam makes my son gag and my husband says it's a pain to use. 3 stars. Try it. Some love it. I just don't.
