I just wanted to let everyone know that I will no longer be going to Applebee's. I am tired of the poor service and poor food quality that I have been getting especially at the one on Route 33, Hamilton Township, NJ.

February 17, 2008 was the last straw. My guest and I arrived at Applebee's at 8:50 p.m. It was slow, maybe 5 tables seated and two people at the bar. My guest and I ordered water to drink and my guest also ordered a hot tea. At the same time, we placed our orders. I got the half-size Oriental fried chicken salad and my guest ordered the Chicken Fajita Rollup. After we placed our order three tables were seated and two left.

I timed the delivery time, it took 20 minutes to receive our water and tea (the server forgot the cream for the tea, another 5 minute wait), we had to ask for straws. It took an additional 15 minutes to get our food order, the other three tables who came in after us and ordered after us received their food orders before we did. When we did finally receive our order, mine was wrong - they gave me the Grilled Oriental Chicken salad and the server questioned me when I informed him that the order was wrong ("Are you sure that is what you ordered?"). I took note of the lettuce on my plate before he removed it, there was an end cut (the heel of the lettuce head) on the plate. My guest's french fries were lukewarm and over salted and her fajita rollup was cold.

Another 15 minutes later I received what I hoped was a fresh Oriental Chicken Salad, instead someone removed the grilled chicken that had been swimming in a bitter overly soy marinade and replaced it with the grilled chicken. I know this because that exact lettuce heel was on my plate in the exact same place and the lettuce was swimming in the grilled chicken marinade which gave the lettuce a soggy, bitter taste. There was virtually no almond slices or crispy noodles on the plate at all. Just knowing that someone put their fingers in to my food made it that more unappealing.

For such a simple order it took more than an hour from start to finish. The server, Charlie F., did not refill my water at all nor did he check on us to see if we liked our meal, he was more focused on chatting with another guest. We did not even get a "Thank you for coming" when we left. Needless to say he received a poor tip to match the poor service, less than 10 percent. We did not finish our unappetizing, unappealing dinners and we would not have taken them home even if we had been offered to go boxes (which we were not). Definitely not worth the $20.41 plus meager tip.

My guest and I left every unhappy, this was her first and last visit to an Applebee's, as for me, I had been a loyal customer for years and it was definitely my last.
The next day I wrote to the customer service satisfaction department listed on my receipt, to date I have yet to hear from them. I guess they are not really as interested in what customers think as they advertise.

In a time when more people are eating out less because they can not really afford to do so, chain restaurants such as this one should focus on superb service, excellent flavor as well as food quality and the highest sanitation standards.

If you are looking for a place to eat out and like chain restuarants, I seriously suggest avoiding Crapplebee's

Ah, nothing like hearing crap from someone who lives in Trenton. For your information, I have lived in Hamilton for most of my life, currently live very near the Township in one of the nicest neighborhoods left in the city and have traveled all over the country and several other continents. I work in the culinary industry as a chef and teacher, therefore I know great food and proper santiation procedures. Ienjoy eat at the finer restaurants and only tried Crapplebee's because my roommate begged me to go there for dinner one night. As for "going ghetto" I will leave that up to Trenton trash like yourself who have nothing to add but negativity to the world.

Oh we tried, apparently there was none around, at least that is what we were told. I forgot to put that in.

You really should have asked for a manager - most the time you will get your meal for free. What a crappy experience! I stopped going to Applebee's after they stopped serving my favorite dish :( There are plenty of better restaurants out there.
