This is my third Mac...my first way back in college. Of course, being in education, most of the computers in the classrooms/computer labs were Macs until recently. I had a MacBook Pro just prior to the one I am on now. I am not a professional so the MacBook Pro had too much graphical power for what I needed. I paid for more than I would ever use. I purchased the MacBook in May and have never been happier.
I am just moving to the new operating system, Leopard, which I have not installed so I can not tell you about that. It is supposed to simplify things as opposed to make them more challenging.
I have both Mac products and Microsoft products on my computer. I suppose I do this for comfort. However, I did invest in the One-To-One Program and have learned more about the Mac products that parallel those of Microsofts...Pages vs. Word; Numbers vs. Excell. I have found that these programs are more user friendly than those of Microsoft's. It just took the investment of a couple of classes to learn them.
As far as my computer, the graphics are incredible. I take more photos than I need to. IPhoto keeps them organized according to events or faces or dates, or all three. My battery life, when fully charged, ranges between four to five hours, depending upon how much engery I am using for graphics, videos, etc.
Finally, being an educator, Apple offers nice discounts on services and a little off of the computer. I use it in the classroom all of the time - with a project that fits in my pocket.
