iTunes struck the right chord

Apple's iTunes is by far one of the best music players and music stores for the computer today. The music player side is very easy to use and it's easy to import songs from files on the computer or from CDs, and it's easy to burn music onto CDs.

The music store side is great too. It has a huge inventory of songs and albums from many artists and bands, and it's usually cheaper than buying the CD. One of the best things about the store is that you can purchase songs individually. I especially like this because there are certain artists who have only one or two songs that I like. It's also a great way to explore new artists because not only do you have the 30-second preview, but if you buy a song or two and really like it, you can use the "Complete My Album" feature which lets you buy the rest of the album for a discounted price.

There are a few drawbacks to the software and music store... The store doesn't have some big-name artists so you still have to either buy their CDs or go to another music store. Also, the songs only work on an iPod unless you buy them via iTunes Plus or you burn them onto a CD. And the "Complete My Album" feature has a time limit, and while I have several songs that I want the entire album, I can't get it at a reduced price because it's beyond the time limit.

Besides that, however, iTunes is a great piece of software and is a must-have.
