Apple iPod touch Second Gen (8 GB, MB528LL/A) Digital Media Player —

For the longest time I refused to buy iPod. Too many features, iTunes was a pain, and besides. I loved my Creative Zen WAY more.

Then I got my hands on one in Best Buy. And I knew I had to have one.

I have the 16GB iPod Touch 2G, but the features are the same. It fits very comfortably in your hand, and the touch response is very nice. I was worried that when using the touch keyboard I'd mess up every letter I touched. Surprisingly (as long as your fingers are fairly accurate) the touchpad picked up exactly what I wanted to type!

The built-in speaker is handy for when you're at home and don't want to drag out your headphones or plug it into the dock. The sound quality isn't fantastic, but it's got a nice volume to it.

I don't have the Mobile Me service, but I do have it hooked up via NuevaSync (it's like MobileMe, only free because it's through Google - they don't support email yet though). The mail and calendar options are very easy to use and very handy. I love the notepad for quick notes like homework assignments.

I've never been a huge fan of iTunes, but it's growing on me. I like how you can drag and drop songs onto the playlist instead of worrying about moving everything to one folder to sync it. I wish the same could be said about pictures though.

I'm glad I asked for it when I did because the price did go down $100 (for the 16 and 32GB models, $70 for the 8GB). I even got an engraving on it :)

Overall I am very pleased with this product. I think iPod may have won me over after all.

The drag-and-drop would be a really nice feature if they had it wouldn't it?
