I am NOT an ipod virgin, as this is my 3rd (my DH also has a Zune and the kids have the small no-name ones because they cannot be trusted with the real thing!) and I love this thing!
My DH and kids got it for me for my birthday because I was watching video on the tiny nano screen and I have had it now for about 5 weeks and it is the best gift ever!
I love that I can watch video on a decent sized screen AND that I can just turn it sideways and view things widescreen. That is pretty close to the best feature ever. I also like that I can download all the apps for the iphone onto this as well. It has all the features of the iphone except the phone. Since I am out in the boonies and there is no AT&T phone provider near me, this works amazing for me! I look at it as a step towards the iphone or a test to see whether I would like it or use it as more than just a phone!
I used to be a huge PDA person and loved my Palm and now I can get all of thos apps on this, so it works even better than I expected. I did not except it to be able to do nearly as much as it does. It also recognizes my local network, so I can also use it at home to check my e-mail, check the weather, and check the stocks. I do all three of those things from the bed before I even get out in the morning. That might be the best feature ever!!
There are a lot of apps available for free and even the ones you have to buy are not terribly expensive. I have found that most of the ones I need and want are free, so I am going to have to really want something and know that I need it before I will pay for it!
