Hi, my name is Mike and this is my first review. So, I had bought my first Apple Ipod Touch from eBay a while ago, and it was pretty cool!! It was the 2nd Generation with 16GB.
I do admit, there are alot of neat things about it. First of all, the Ipod Touch is has so many features that's it's like a mini-computer!! There is a touchscreen that you can play around with advanced AI capabilities. Such touchscreen technology allows you to "pinch" to zoom in and out of photos and webpages. You can also "flick" the screen to scroll between songs and apps. Even when you tilt the screen from horizontal to vertical, the screen changes too! That happens mostly when you are web-surfing or playing songs. Most importantly, you get to play with a touchscreen keyboard!
Anyway, the other features also have a Wi-Fi reciever, which is in the upper-right portion on the backside of the Ipod Touch, which is PERFECT for my web surfing at school since the college library is packed and I can just login with the Wi-Fi connection. Also, you have these liitle square icons on the Home Page, and those are called Apps. The stock Apps comes as follows: Safari, Maps, Notes, App Store, Calculator, Settings, Mail, Clock, Contacts, Weather, YouTube, Calendar, and Stocks. Whew! All these are at your disposal to help organize you life and entertain you courtesty from Apple when you get the Ipod Touch.
As said before, you can view photos on this Ipod Touch. You can also see videos and download songs. The only thing is you need ITunes, even if you are a PC user. That means an ITunes account and you would need to sync the Ipod and ITunes frequently. Whenever I am bored or need something productive, I go to the App Store!! The App Store is the store that sells the Apps that you all love and crave for!! Even if you are broke, you can also get free apps! I've played a couple games live I-Sniper that you aim by tilting the screen and also played a couple games that allow you to have your fingers have "running legs" and sprint across the screen!
There are a couple downsides to the Apple Ipod Touch. The one that I hate the most is the really short battery life!! Last time, I had used it 6 hours straight before it died on me while I was on a road trip!! Also, since the Ipod Touch has, in a way, a Mac operating system, you can't play Adobe Flash or Shockwave, only Quicktime! The backside can get easily scratched-up. Things like sound quality and screen display are very cool and great quality, but there is always room for improvement.
Overall, the Ipod Touch DOES kick butt, and I might think about owning a Mac someday.
