My first ipod was one of the first generation ones and I never thought I’d be as happy with anything else. Several of my friends and family have various generations of the nanos and they weren’t what I was looking for. When my original ipod died I needed a replacement so I bought the classic for its large storage capacity and larger screen. I should have bought it long ago.
The storage capacity alone is worth the price….which not comparably much more than the nano for the extra 75-160 odd GB you get. Last I checked I have 23 solid days worth of music on it and its not even half way full. The screen size makes it ideal for watching movies on long trips. Sound quality is excellent. If you’re a music lover this puts your whole library (and I mean the WHOLE thing) a click away.
If you're into frills with your ipod you're less likely to be impressed with the classic. The classic is more for function and is only offered in black and silver instead of the multiple colors like the nano. However, that is the only drawback I've found.
