Apple - iPod Video White (30 GB) Media Player Review Summary

Viewpoints reviewers love the Apple iPod 30 GB. If you’re looking for the Mac Daddy of MP3 players, then you can pack a lot on this high-end iPod. Movies, TV shows, videos and your full music collection. Have it all right in the palm of your hand. Of course, when you buy Apple, you’re making a deal with the devil. You’re locked into iTurnes with iPod, or they hope you will be. Techies say to buy your music rather than purchasing through iTunes. If someone comes out with something bigger and better, then you’re stuck with your music tied up in iTunes limbo, unless you bought your tunes elsewhere and then loaded them into the iTunes system. Check out other iPod and MP3 music systems reviewed by users who tell you exactly what they think.

Several years ago I bought an iPod when it first came out and could not get it working with my Windows PC. When the Shuffle came out by that time we had a Mac in the house and it worked like a charm. We quickly hit the limit of music and then bought the Nano when it came out. I used it a lot… read full review »

We have a collection of several hundred CDs. They used to reside in a CD Jukebox by Sony. Now they are moving to my iPod 30 GB with video. The reason is simple: space and portability. We are moving to a place where a huge stereo system just won't work. We will be in a car for many days while… read full review »

Intro — Both of my children have had iPod Shuffles since Christmas 2005, and my husband a few weeks ago came up and asked me if he could get his own music on an iPod. This is a guy who listens to the same twelve songs over and over on a Mix CD I made him. Occasionally he'll listen to a country CD, some Beach Boys, or Stevie Ray Vaughan, but nine times out of ten, it's his mix CD. — — Decision on Model — We looked up features of all the different iPods online, but my husband is the type to want to see things in person, so we drove to Best Buy to take a look. He… read full review »

I got my Apple Ipod Video after everyone else of my peers did because I had an MP3 player.  But for my birthday 5 months back, I got this because everyone got sick of hearing me complain about having to change my MP3 songs every other day and not enough space and using up too many dang batteries.  I can't tell  you how glad I am that I made the switch into the new generation of portable music.  I have about 1600 songs and I am not half full yet!!  Also, we were able to download Family Guy episodes or whole movies onto the ipod and watch it on road trips or listen to… read full review »

If you have done any reseach you know that its notworth getting an MP3 player unless its creative or Apple. I got mine for free so this is why I have an Ipod. The ipod sounds great the videofeature is awesome and I enjoy it. I dontlike some things about the apple one though. The video must be in the quicktime format which is inconvenient at best. (creative supports almost any format) This was the main pitfall for me. I did get a video converter but most of themwilldrop frames or your audio and video will lose alignment. If you buy from i-tumesyou wont have to worry about converting but if you… read full review »

I have had my iPod for a couple years now and I don't think I will ever be able to use up all of the memory! 30G works perfectly for me. It holds songs, pictures, videos, etc. and does tons of other things (I still haven't figured out what half of them are!). Maybe once I start loading up on other things besides music I will begin to use some more of the memory. My only critiques of this product is the battery and the headphones. The battery doesn't seem to last too long. Sometimes it seems like it is dead after 2 hours. The headphones lasted a decent amount of time… read full review »

I like most of my IPOD.  It's great to be able to play the music I want to hear, the way I want to hear it.  I don't like that it doesn't have an off button persay.  And the way you turn up the volume can be a pain.  But the way you can put endless amounts of music and take it whereever you go is awesome.  I also have an adapter in my car so I can plug it in and listen to all my music without having to change the cd.  I also walk and it is perfect size and weight for taking on a walk and listen to music while I get my exercise.  The earphones are really good… read full review »

The iPod is one of the best things I've ever bought. It plays all my music, videos, and everything I could ever want! But there are alot of bad things about it. 1) It freezes all the time. You have to let the battery die out before you can use it again. 2) Whatever you put on there is stuck. I dont know how to get it off! 3)Somethimes it wont turn off so it'll stay on until the battery dies. 4)The headphones are horrible!!!!!! It think its worth buying though. —  I would rather have a Zune..... —… read full review »

I was hesitant to jump into the iPod revolution-- I am a hardcore PC guy, and have always had a deep-seeded loathing for Macs.  Some people are Mac people and some are PC people, and while I admitted that Macs were better for heavy graphics projects, they were never my bag.  For those who said Macs didn't crash-- well, I'm your guy for the job.  I've crashed many a Macintosh, including iBooks. — In any case, I ended up buying an iPod Video 30 Gig, Gen 5.5, because I finally saw the light of having a portable music device, and in comparing prices/specs/abilities/reviews, I… read full review »

I purchased the IPod Video Black (30 gig) for my husband because he loves music.  The IPod is very user friendly.  My husband does not use a computer at work so is not as technically savvy as some, but he has no trouble getting around his IPod or the ITunes website.  Did you know that you can download a FREE song every week at ITunes?  Thats right they place a "song of the week" on the site available to download for free.  Cool, huh?  Plus he downloaded his entire CD collection.  He has it all at his fingertips all the time.  He loves it and uses it… read full review »

Mp3 players in general are great gadgets for consolidation and portability.  You can literally carry around with you every album you own in the palm of your hand.  Bring it with you in the car (especially great for road trips).  Strap it on you while you jog (there are a bunch of accessories to choose from).  — — This iPod in particular allows you to store album artwork which is great for someone like myself that appreciates album artwork just as much as the music itself.  I've even added my own personal pictures to certain tracks on my favorite… read full review »

I am a very budget-conscious person, so $250.00 was a really big investment for me to make for an iPod.  I can only say that in the 3 months that I have owned my iPod, it has already paid for itself.  I am a music nut, as well, I like to be able to listen to music 24 hours a day.  My iPod makes that almost possible.  My favorite thing to do - when I go run all of my errands on Saturday mornings, I take my iPod, put on some music that I love, and somehow I can ignore the crowds and crazy people at Wal-Mart much easier.  The iPod is easy to use and to figure out, I… read full review »

I went to an official iPod website and purchased a refurbished iPod at a discount.  Being my first iPod purchase, I was not familiar with all the functionality or features of an iPod so I was initially pleasantly pleased with product purchase.  I was able to load the original number of songs I wanted and organize them to my specifications.  The small size of this specific iPod did not suit my exercise needs (I was continually dropping it) so perhaps a larger iPod would be better for future use.  Then, I began to have an issue with the track wheel not moving through… read full review »
