This was a gift for our picky son and it has been quite the success with him.  We had purchased a cheap MP3 player in the past and were never able to figure out how to download music on it.  The Apple Video Ipod has been a breeze to operate and download music.  Love the ability to be able to choose what individual songs we want, and the ability to easily organize our music downloads.  I was worried that the 30 GB wouldn't have enough storage room, but that has not been a problem at all.  Now I want my own!
