The user interface is very innovative featuring the "multi touch" technology which is very intuitive and easy to use. Menus are very user friendly with impressive graphics specially for scrolling your picture, video or music albums.
The device comes with built in Wifi for internet browsing, and is the only portable device -along with the iPhone- that enables you the real Internet like you see it on your home PC and not a stripped down version of it. You can zoom in and out using 2 fingers, see your webpage in portrait or landscape simply by turning the device in the direction you want.
The sound and video quality are great. The video specially is impressive since the 3.5" screen offers a great resolution and a crisp and sharp picture. Almost like having a little plasma TV in the palm of your hand.
I would've loved it even more if the battery would last more specially when playing lots of videos or browsing the web. The battery life is decent though if you listen to music more often than watch videos. Also no charger is included, only the USB cable, which means you need to use your PC to charge your ipod. That is kind of annoying specially that the device is not cheap. It wouldn't have cost Apple that much to throw in a charger or even a nice docking station instead of selling them separately.
Although the screen has some anti scratch coating, I noticed that the shiny back of the device is very easily scratched. Apple should've thought of coating the device front and back. Having a camera would've also been a nice addition, though the iPhone already comes with it.
Overall, this is a must have gadget for any portable media or technology enthusiast. The 16 GB version is also available if you're willing to spend a $100 more.
