Apple - iPod Shuffle Second Gen. Silver (1 GB) MP3 Player — 

I LOVE the idea of this-for kids.  For myself I'd prefer something with a screen and the ability to choose a playlist or specific artist or genre.  Otherwise it's a great little IPOD.

 If you've got a real music lover I'd say spend the extra money on the nano or an IPOD with a screen.  I love the feature of this item charging through the computer.  Be aware that you can also purchase a (roughly $20) charger to plug into an outlet so you don't have to plug into computer.

Of course I did. I'm never claimed it was Apple's fault. My comment was only intended to remind people who are considering a Shuffle that having a screen is a nice feature and that if they are on the fence about it, it's worth spending the extra money up front to get *all* that you want. There's nothing worse than investing in something only to find out you need to reinvest in a higher model.

I stand behind my review that this is a great item, but perhaps not for *every* consumer.
