I travel about 2,000 miles per month with my job. I love to listen to audio books while driving. I can up-load cd's to my pc and and download them onto my iPod Shuffle. I plug the iPod Shuffle into my car system and I don't have to change cd's while I am driving. Of course, you have to have a cassette player and adapter in your car to do this.
I have recently discovered podcasts on iTunes. I have been re-learning Spanish, learning about the our Solor System and American History for the past three weeks. I also listen to popular NPR programs, such as This American Life. Pod Casts are free! I also can buy audio books on iTunes or Audio.Com.
The iPod Shuffle is the least expensive of the iPods. It holds 1 mega bite. This is plenty of memory to hold most books. I have never used a more expensive iPod, therefore I don't know what the controls are like. The Shuffle is very basic with its controls. One round button on top controls forward, reverse; audio up and down. Sometimes I wish I had more control of which part of the book or which song I want to listen, too.
