I picked up one of these teeny tiny 1GB iPod Shuffles this last weekend. I've had the notion of getting one all spring long. I've been spending more time doing yard work than in years past and I like listening to songs on my iPod while outside. Unfortunately that old 30GB iPod of mine is bulky and...

My daughter won an iPod shuffle.  It was more trouble than it was worth.  It is easier to use the Zen Nano that I bought for her.  Downloading music was a pain and it holds just 240 songs.  For the cost, the Zen Nano is a better deal.  iPod Shuffles are popular because of the iPod name, not because...

The second generation iPod shuffle is a great "tool" for people who are usually in a rush/very active. I run almost every day and my shuffle is perfectly suited for the treadmill or the concrete paths.

I love that it works with my already-established iTunes system, is very compact since weight and space are issues when running, and has only the bare necessities. I commute quite often and like the freedom of letting my machine do its thing...it's like the hands-free bluetooth headset of iPods!

I would recommend you invest in a protective case to hold the shuffle and earbuds as it can get pretty...

Well if your a music lover and an awesome possom like myself, then you should try the iPod shuffle. Yeah, its awesome. Especially for when you're working out or just doing everyday chores, it has a built-in clip, that makes it so easy to listen to your fave tunes, and stay active, normally you would have to hold your iPod or Mp3Player, or buy a strap so you don't have to hold it. But  the iPod Shuffle you just clip to your shirt and GO. How amazing is that? Now the only thing I have to say that is negative about this iPod is that it doesn't hold enough songs, I mean 240 songs seems like a lot,...

First of all, I love the iPod Shuffle because of its simplicity. You simply load it up with music and it shuffles through the songs. This makes it the perfect personal music device to use when I am exercising.

I love to walk for exercise - and it really helps if I can walk to the beat of some of my favorite music. By creating a playlist in iTunes with only songs at walking tempo, I can load up my iPod Shuffle and never have to worry about getting tired of exercising to the same old music.

The iPod Shuffle (1GB) holds over 16 hours of music - that's a lot of exercise sessions!

There is much about the...

I'm too busy to sit down and read a book cover-to-cover, so I've become an audiobook enthusiast.  When the tiny Shuffle came out, I had to give it a whirl.  Of course, just like music, one can load up the little guy with an an entire audiobook.  Clip it anywhere that's convenient (it doesn't weigh anything) and play/pause your story with the touch of a finger.  Turn it off when you're done and when you turn it back on and touch 'play' it'll pick up exactly where it left off.  The only exception to this is after a long time in 'pause' mode, the unit does an auto-shut-off.  When this happens... read full review »

I received this niftly little music tote, the I pod Shuffle through a contest on Gather.com put on by the makers of Children's Motrin.  I must say I feel totally hip now that I have my little piece of technology that brings me into the times.  I love that I can easily install my favorite songs from my small music collection, I am not stuck to the whole CD.  I also like the strong hinge on the clip that makes it easy to attach to clothing, books, or my purse.  Mine came in a bright orange color that makes it easy to locate. It is easy to charge as well.  Just hook it to the dock, plug it in...

I was a little apprehensive about buying a shuffle.  It looks a bit different than everything else - it has no screen, is TINY, and only holds a limited amount of music.

But after using it the first time, i was sold and happy with my choice.  All you have to do is clip it on and not worry about it until your workout is over.  It is light weight enough that you don't have to worry about it bouncing all around and it holds enough songs that you get variety and aren't listening to the same song over and over (unless you want to!).

The other good thing about it is you dont have to worry about...

Apple - iPod Shuffle Second Gen. (1 GB) MP3 Player

is great for its size.  The small size combined with the spring clip means you often forget you are carrying anything.  Easy to understand and use buttons (buttons are not super tiny) but some might think it could use more features (bareboned as it is).  Can easily lose your place and is hard to skip through on normal (consecutive) play mode, and on shuffle mode is not intelligent (no memory when shut off).  I don't care for itunes, mostly because loading music into my library takes surprising load (specifically, converting my music files...

I have an Ipod shuffle and havent had any problems with it except for the fact that the battery died but other than that these little things are amazing.I would reccomend this model the most because its not insanely expensive like the Ipod  touch and you can still  listen to hundreds of songs on it also. The only other problem to watch out for is the screen getting scratched so make sure to buy a case to put in or suffer the consequences of a scratched face which makes it really hard to read the songs then. The equalizer on the Ipod doesn't help with the sound quality at all and the oringinal earbuds... read full review »

I hate bringing my 80-gig to the beach and gym.  It is too easy to lose it/get it filled w/ sand!  I got the shuffle, without high expectations.  However, I love this thing!  It fits in my sports bra at the gym (so no bulky iPod on my arm while I'm lifting!) and on my swimsuit at the beach.  I even found speakers for it to bring to work; now I can listen to music and walk away from my desk w/o the worry of someone swiping my iPod (a concern with the more expensive model!).  The only con i have is that you can only charge the darn thing on the computer.  Other than that, this is perfect... read full review »

I was given an Ipod shuffle (second generation) for an early Christmas present and I love it! It's small and lightweight and just clips on to your shirt or anywhere you want to put it.  The sound quality is good and the ear plugs fit my ears perfectly.  It's easy to download from Itunes straight into the Ipod.  There are different colors you can choose from for the cover, I chose purple.  I'm still learning new things with the Ipod and Itunes, but I love it!!

 Sincerely,

An ecstatic music lover

This little music maker is wonderful. Easy to load songs onto. The charge lasts for a very long time, much longer than my previous Ipod Mini. It is perfect to wear at the gym. The shuffle just clips to my top and I never know it is there. The sound quality is very good for such a little device and the earphones are comfortable to wear.

So overall, the Shuffle is:

  • easy to use
  • small enough to wear anywhere
  • sounds very good
  • the charge lasts and lasts
  • the design is nice
  • the colors are fun

The new I-pod shuffle is great!  I love that it just clips on to my shorts (or shirt, as I see some people do).  It is perfect for running and working out.  It does not get in my way and i really like that I do not have to keep it on my sweaty arm like the last shuffle and the larger I-pods.  It did take a lot of time on the Apple website to figure out why my I-pod would not charge (and it was a common problem, so it should be included in the directions), but, other than that, I love it!

I found the iPod shuffle a perfect solution to my problem at the gym, running - My regular iPod is large and clunky, and weighs me down when I'm running. The iPod shuffle clips easily onto my clothing, and I never even notice it's there. The price is great too - I bought mine for $80 and they're even cheaper now. This isn't an iPod to use for your main on-the-go listening, because there is a limited library navigation - but it is great for popping in an energetic playlist and hitting the gym!
