The Second Generation iPod Nano (4 GB) is sleek, light, and easily fits into any pocket.  The controls are large enough for easy operation, and the sound quality is great...and LOUD if you want it to be...especially if the songs were purchased and downloaded from iTunes (superior quality sound files).  It really holds a charge for a long time too. My only gripe is that 4 GB is not enough space for me.  It holds less than 500 songs, which is less than half of what the product specs say it can hold.  It would have been enough space if it really did hold 1,000 songs.  I'd recommend the 8 GB...

How did I live so long without an iPod Nano? This is one of the best additions to my life. A late bloomer when it comes to MP3 players, I first had an iPod Shuffle, but with no control over which song would play, and too little storage, I eventually decided I needed something with more features and more music capacity. This generation of iPod is awesome.  The thing is so small and lightweight!  Turning it sideways and seeing album covers differently is pretty cool too.  Using iTunes to download songs is easy and the fact that you can load your own CD's into your iTunes library (for free of course) is a bonus.

You'll need to get a case for the Nano - because it is so light and small it's easy to drop.  I would also suggest a 'skin'...
