A great, durable, inexpensive Ipod.

5

This Ipod is great! It has lasted through many workouts, trips, and just times when I have listened to music. It is durable and inexpensive. It's small and compact so it is easy to carry around everywhere. The only problem is that is so old that you cannot connect it to WiFi, but it can still provide you with music when and where you want it. Sound Quality You have to use earphones but the sound quality through the earphones is great. Performance I bought my Ipod around the time that Apple came out with it and I still have it! My Ipod has worked great from the very beginning and after around six years it still works just as well as when I bought it. Battery Life It had a great battery life at first, but like all electronics, as the years have passed the battery life has gotten shorter. It is still good enough, though, that you can use it a couple of days before recharging. Durability My Ipod has lasted around six years and it still works great so I would say amazing! Ease of Use It has a very easy to use format with the normally clear and easy to use Apple style (maybe because it doesn't connect to the Internet in any way). Design It is smaller than most Ipod so it is much easier to carry around and work out with. Also it costs less money so it is less likely to be stolen.

Slim and cool but the newer ones may be better

I love my iPod.  I listen to it daily.  There are some major downsides to this 1st generation iPod nano model, though.  IT SCRATCHES VERY EASILY!!  The first thing you want (if you like to keep your gadgets shiny and new like me) is a screen protector and/or a protective case.  Ipod socks really don't cut it.  This model came with a thin leather pouch, unlike the newer models.  That did OK for me for awhile but I really had to baby it.  If you like to drop stuff and bang it around then invest in those hard plastic cases.  The other downside to this model is that you can't buy games for it.  You need the newer model for that.  Otherwise, I really am happy with it.  My 2GB model holds about 350 songs which suits me just fine.  You don't need to crank out the extra cash for the 4GB.  I hear that the newer models don't hold as many songs.  This could be because of those extra games and bells and whistles perhaps?

Remarkably good device, though a bit pricey.

The iPod nano (1rst generation) is a good starter mp3 player from the iPod line.  It offers excellent sound quality, easy portability, and an internal rechargable battery you never have to worry about "ruining" by recharging while there is still power in it.This device also keeps all your downloaded songs conveniently alphabetized, as well as offering a useful clock display in the upper bar to keep you informed of the current time. The settings for the iPod nano (1rst gen) can be adjusted easily from the first menu screen that you see after turning the device on.On the downside, this device lacks any substantial storage capacity.  Also, the prices for the iPod line leave much to be desired, even those prices listed for the earliest models.Overall, this device is an excellent starter player, with many choices for later upgrades.  I highly recommend this device.

Good when it came out!

This upod nano version is pretty old, so probably no one would buy this anyways. But still, it was a good first ipod personally for me so i would never say it's anything bad. Color screens were nice, along with the brick game that made it one of th earlier mp3 players to have both color screen capabilities and gaming abilities, in a sense. It was smaller, portable, storable, and overall pretty nice. It was pretty much like every other ipod, except without a touch screen. Pretty much when it comes to the ipod nano, you would want it if you need an mp3 player but am not 100% fond of the ipod touch, or just touch screens in general. One caveat is that i'm not 100% sure how things work when you put the newer versions of the ipod firmware on these ipods. I know for a fact that cover flow didnt exist back when I had this when it came out, but with the new iOS 4 maybe things have changed, who knows. If you buy it now, you can prob get this cheap if u need an mp3.

Nice Mini iPod

5

This iPod was my first iPod and my first MP3 player ever. I loved this thing, it was so nice to listen to songs on the go without having to change discs, and to just have the access at your fingertips. Unfortunately with the size comes a data restriction, as you'll find that the lower storage capacity fills up pretty fast. But that doesn't change it from being a great device with great features. Not only does it look sleek and pleasing to the eye, but it has a few features that really show its worth. The touch pad lets you breeze through menus fast and easy, and the hold button lets you lock the device to prevent you from accidentally messing with the settings such as volume or changing the track, in case you have it somewhere it might accidentally get messed with, like your pocket. Though outdated and outclassed by the newer generations of iPod Nano's, this was always a great choice for a smaller budget.

Original iPod Nano Still Going Strong

4

My brother owns this original iPod nano and I've borrowed it several times since my Shuffle died. He bought it when it first came out and was able to get his name engraved on it for free. This thing was expensive back then! But I have to say that it has lasted for quite a while. It's well-known that the original nano was subject to easy scratches. My brother purchased the silicone cover for it but it somehow still scratched! He ended up just taking the cover off. The nano was much better than my original shuffle. It has a screen where you can see photo of album and the artist's name/title of song & etc. Songs can be put into playlists! The controls were easy to learn and get used to. The screen is easy to read and bright enough. This thing is pretty thin and lightweight. There is a hold button to make sure that the unit doesnt get turned off or on by mistake. This unit still charges & plays music unlike my Shuffle that died a year after I received it as a gift.

I love my iPod Nanu 1st generation (4gb)

5

I recetenly bought my iPod Nano (1st generation) that is a 4gb; used from an online seller. What is not to love? I love have sleek and slim that it is! I used this mainly when I am going to bed. It has a playlist that I can make and set the sleep timer. Which is great becasue listening to music relaxes me and I love that it shuts off by itself. The iPod Nano 1st generation is very strong and depenable! I have dopped it several times, smacked it out a metal post of the bed, and have woke up with it under me and have had no issues with it! The battery life is amazing! I have never had a mp3 player that had a battery that lasted as long as my iPod Nano! I charge it all the way and can use it for days before I have to charge it again!  I can hold so much muisc with the 4gb that even though I have tons of favorites bands; I still have a little over a gb to fill on my iPod! My sister-in-law also has the same one; but hers is 2gb and she loves it also!

1st Gen ipod Nano

3

So the first generation ipod nano is an amazing first ipod or mp3 player.  In my opion it is also a great starter ipod for a yonger person probally with in the rang or ten to thirteen year old.  And I say this since most ten to thirteen year olds I know only have a couple hundred songs that they really really like.         And with that said the first generation ipod nano holds about two to four hundred songs.  I have had my first generation ipod nano for almost five years now and it is still in great condition.  There are a few things that I do not like about the first generation ipod nano is that being almost twenty years old the ipod nano just does not hold enough songs for someone of my age.         Also it is a little behind when it comes to the rest of the ipods that are coming out now of days.  And to leave this review on a good note I just want to say that I like how the Apple company provides an easy way to put music on your ipod.  And over all I have only had good experiances with the ipod nano.

just the right size

i believe i've had this little nano for atleast 3 years and we are still going strong. it is the right size, not to small or two big, holds just enough music that i listen to on a daily basis and still works just as great as it did when i got it. it will be a very sad day when it dies.

Take your music anywhere

The I-pod nano is a geat basic tool for downloading music.  I use it at the gym and it has been a great help to keep my workouts upbeat and interesting.  The device is quite small which is both a blessing and a curse.  The pro is that it can be transported very easily and is not at all cumbersome.  The con is that it is so small that it is easily misplaced and tends to be fragile.  I would not recommend it for a teen or pre-teen.  However it will work well for someone who is very responsible.  I also recommend that anyone who purchases this item also select a protective case.  This is not a cheap item so the case will help to protect your investment.
