Apple iMac G5 (M9250LL/A) Mac Desktop Review

Even though the iMac is much easier to use than a PC, and it is definitely a luxury in many ways, it has been a great frustration.  Maybe I got a lemon.  From day one the fan on my computer has blown loud, very loud, like the computer is about to blow up!  Customer service has been awful.  We've had it serviced twice, and not living near an Apple store, we have to drive over an hour.  We've replaced two hard drives, and were told by Apple that that isn't unusual.  The rep told me "hard drives are like tires".  Well, when I spend 1700 on a computer I'm expecting that the thing will work for longer than a year.  The last time we had it in to get fixed we were told they just couldn't figure out what was wrong.  All of our family members have Macs, and they all have purchased refurbished, and none of them have had any problems.  So, maybe mine is a lemon, but you'd think that Apple could replace it if that were the case.
