The new IMAC/EMAC is a marvel. Gone are my days of Microsoft supported computers. This is my first experience with an Apple product since we bought our kids an Apple computer over 20 years ago. They have come a long way.
The 20" monitor is about an 1 1/2" thick but contains everything that use to be in my old computer tower. The keyboard, mouse, printer and dsl plug into the back. DVD/CD slot is on the side of the monitor. All of our Microsoft files were transferable to MAC OS X.
The MAC OS X software was already installed when I took delivery. The navigation is simple and for those of us who identify better with icons it is easy to point and click. Those who like the descriptive headings better or don't like their desktop crowded with icons they are easily replaced.
I was somewhat disturbed that the nearest Apple store was a 2 hour drive. Though you can purchase through Apple on-line, I made the 2 hour drive in order to play with a demo before I bought.
If your in the market for a new computer, give the Apple a test drive. You might be pleasantly surprised.
